These primative IED's get the award for weapon of the war.

Perfect for chewing up a modern army on the ground over an extended period of time. More importantly, it gets press and demoralizes and puts the fear of god in the populace.

In no way is the army being chewed up by IEDs. We have 130,000 people in Iraq. They kill, what, 2-3 a day when lucky? That is in no way "chewing up a modern army". This is all propaganda and you are falling for it.

More importantly, it gets press

These attacks are only getting the press because W is President and the Republicans are in power.

If it were a Dimocrat president, you can bet your bottom dollar that news reports would be pointing out how these attacks, while gruesome, cannot do any large damage to our military. The media would be giving us a positive view of Iraq.

The MSM reports the news the way they want it to be portrayed. You have to remember that. Can this eventually affect the conflict? Yes, by changing the minds of the peeples, to get the peeples to believe our military is being destroyed by these IED's sort of like what you now believe.

Never EVER forget what Walter Cronkite and the media did to us in Vietnam!!

I agree and I'm greatly puzzled why we haven't been able to stop them. Maybe our pilotless drone aircraft are ineffective at night when the bombs are likely put into place. But it seems we ought to have some means of surveillance to put those s.o.b.'s out of business. I'm just venting and might see things very differently if I was on the ground there.
