White House Letter: Like it or not, Bush III is being primed to run
IHT ^

Posted on 05/28/2006 8:32:43 PM PDT by Lunatic Fringe

WASHINGTON Bush III? Or has the dynasty run its course? Those are the questions some Republicans are asking themselves as political talk bubbles up yet again about President George W. Bush's brother, Governor Jeb Bush of Florida, and his interest in the White House. The chief driver of the mini-buzz is the current occupant of the White House, who has said twice this month that his younger brother would make "a great president."

No one is suggesting, the president included, that the younger Bush will run in 2008, and Governor Bush, whose second term is up at the end of this year, has adamantly ruled it out.

But Republican party leaders continue to talk seriously about a continuation of the dynasty, a Bush III administration, with Jeb as a candidate in 2012 or 2016, when the memory of the current president's dismal poll ratings will be less of a factor. That, at least, is what happened the last time around, when the first President Bush's unpopularity at the end of his term in 1992 did not hurt his eldest son when he ran for president eight years later.

Stating facts are not the stuff of 'moonbat rantings'.

Please feel free to dispute or refute anything that I said about Bush's record.

Hint -- That means that you find something wrong with the things that I have stated by showing that they are untrue. That does not mean resorting to personal insults, which by the way, violate the rules of this forum.

"There is also a lot that he tried to do but couldn't because the GOP congress stopped him"

Yeah.
Like having Roman sex orgies at the White House and bombing even more Aspirin factories in the Sudan and killing Innocent kids, whenever his sex scandals came to light.

"Your best defense of Bush is the same as the reason that many of us voted for him "

Wrong.

So far, in about ten replies to me, you have not refuted one thing that I have said, but have consistently resorted to insult and smartass remarks.

That tells me that you have nothing and are nothing.

Learn to discuss and debate or just go away. You're wasting bandwidth.

You haven't made one single valid point about President Bush.
On the other hand, I have made plenty about BJ Klinton.

Why can anyone refute empty noise?

Non responsive.

No one is defending Clinton. He was likely the worst man ever to be president, but while he was concentrating on his sexual gratification with interns, Bush is signing some costly legislation into law that Clinton could never have gotten passed to sign into law.

"No one is defending Clinton"

You coulda fooled me. You were quite happy with BJ Klinton granting a pardon to the Columbian Drug lord Carlos Vignalli in return for blood money.
You even suggested we legalize cocaine and all sing Kumbaya.

"Bush is signing some costly legislation into law that Clinton could never have gotten passed to sign into law."

Bush is signing legislation into law that the congress hasn't already passed?

We are not discussing Clinton and no one is defending him.

We are discussing GWB and I have stated more than a few facts. Are you saying that he never signed those bill into law? Are you saying that domestic spending isn't up? Are you saying that we don't have the start of HillaryCare with the drug bill?

I know that you like the Kennedy Education bill, but can you please locate for me that portion of the Constitution that allows for the Federal government to be involved in education? Are you a teacher?

Are you saying that Bush didn't sign (after he said that he wouldn't) McCain Feingold? What part of "Congress shall make no law...." don't you, congress, Bush, and the SCOTUS understand?

Newbie, you can ignore the facts, but that doesn't change them.

You and who exactly?

You have.
Over and over.

Maybe you and Bush are the only ones to realize that he has the power to VETO bills that Congress passes.

He is the ONLY president to NEVER veto a bill.

We have Republican Senate and House, and the Republican President just has to keep vetoing bills that they just voted on does he?

Does your mommy know that you are using her computer?

You act as though you are 8 years old. No, make that 6. By the time most kids reach 8 years old, they begin to show some maturity and you have shown none whatsoever.

You seem to be advancing the hardcore party position that anybody who does not vote for whatever RINO the sellout political pros put forward is helping elect some even ~more~ loathsome character such as Hillary.

But, do you really think that you have a winning campaign theme, Hold Your Nose and Vote with Your Party?

A lot of people get very agitated when they see that the triangulating class thinks that it has them cornered and plans to ride roughshod over them.

Yea, some of us fools would cut off our noses to spite our faces, as the saying goes. Just try to stuff a RINO down my throat, and you'll see that I am capable of some very irrational behavior. For example, you'd be ~amazed~ at how far I would go, in my little way, to keep another Bush out of the White House.

I've been pulling that GOP lever without a flinch for forty years. My hand ain't welded to it though. It might be more important to me to use my vote to jam my thumb in somebody's eye than to help elect the least objectionable candidate. As Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci) said in Casino, "That's who I am."
