You Can't Stay on the Fence About Immigration

YOU CAN'T STAY ON THE FENCE ABOUT IMMIGRATION

The bitter battle over the immigration bill has become a legislative minefield in this election year, though it's still unclear whether November will see any heavy political fallout as a result.

To put it mildly, this issue is a thorny wilderness, festering intra-party divisions and brewing voter backlashes. It could inflict additional wounds on George W. Bush's battle-scarred presidency, shrink the GOP's congressional Republican majority and, possibly, hurt some vulnerable Democrats.

Let's slice up some of these pitfalls.

Stand Up For America !

"We have room for but one flag, the American flag...
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...
And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Hi JustPiper.   You've been MIA!
LOL, other than a big dead terrorist in Iraq, it's been quiet.
The news topics have been changed, with of course, placing the senate and house conferees on page 12.
So we don't know where it's at.

More on what happened to Alex Jones

'These guys love secrecy'

and they're in town for mystery meeting

"Sir, there's a global crime syndicate meeting," cries Alex Jones, the host of an Austin, Tex., radio show who's been stalking the secretive Bilderberg Group for years.

He was one of a pack of alternative journalists, conspiracy theorists and just plain suspicious local folks who camped out last night and caught a glimpse, they said, of David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, Queen Beatrix of Holland, former N.B. premier Frank McKenna and a host of other bigwigs.

They might well have -- all those names were on a rare, unsigned Bilderberg press release, Canadian Press reported.

New York Gov. George Pataki, the heads of Coca-Cola, Credit Suisse, the Royal Bank of Canada and two figures behind the U.S. invasion of Iraq -- Richard Perle and Ahmad Chalabi -- are also in town, according to the release.

Talk-show host Jones said he almost didn't make it.

He said he was detained at the Ottawa Airport for more than 12 hours by border guards who seemed to know who he is.

It was no coincidence, Jones insisted.

"These guys love secrecy -- 125 of the most elite people on the planet meeting together and setting policy," Jones said. "It's diabolical -- world government, global taxation. On the agenda here, they're debating (an impending) attack on Iran.

I'm boycotting "Google" since I've recently heard there is an alleged Chinese connection.

I presonally use "WebFerret Pro" a great deal to find very difficult to locate articles.

Yaqui on the west coast of Mexico are born with deformities and dying at young ages from banned pesticides sprayed and stored in their villages by non-Yaqui farmers who lease the land.

Excerpts from RNC Chairman, Ken Mehlman's Speech to The Latino Coalition Small Business Conference

In 1979, an ex FDR Democrat named Ronald Reagan predicted that others would soon follow his path, "Hispanics are Republicans, they just don't know it yet," he said. Twenty-five years later, more and more Hispanics do in fact know that their political home is in the Republican Party.

...And what are the bedrock principles that the party of Lincoln shares with Hispanics? First, in America, your aspirations matter more than your origins. We are not defined by our race, our religion, our national origin. We are united by something more important: our commitment to freedom and opportunity.

...There's a reason the Party of Lincoln favors tax relief. We respect how hard people work today. We don't believe that politicians in Washington should choose between a carpenter in Cleveland, taxi driver in El Paso, or accountant in Chicago as to who can keep more of their money. They all work hard. They've all earned it. And we need to let all of them keep more, which is why we need to make all of their tax relief permanent.

...For the sake of younger workers, Democrats should end their obstructionism. For the sake of fairness, they should allow every worker in America the same opportunity to choose a personal retirement accounts that today is only available to a select few. And for the sake of more economic equality for America's hardest workers, Democrats should join with the President in saving Social Security and offering a better deal for the future.

...On June 12, 1999, Governor George W. Bush first announced his campaign for presidency in Iowa. A simple theme wove together the various pieces of his speech. And that theme was, "The American Dream is for you." For five years now, President Bush has been as good as his word. In his appointments of more Latinos to top posts than any president in history to his policies of economic growth and empowerment, President Bush has proven that the American dream is indeed for all Americans.

...The party of Lincoln will build on this progress. Today I am pleased to announce the RNC will establish a national Hispanic Advisory Committee, made up of respected community leaders from around the nation who will develop and execute our plan to earn the Latino vote.

...We welcome any and all Americans who share our values and our vision for the future. After all, we believe the American dream is for every American.

Question: I was just pinged to this thread and am appauled at the attacks by a few of the regulars who consistently attempt to refute the information posted. Information that comes from the Homeland Security website. These same few people DO NOT want any of this type of discussion here, as they seem to troll the board looking for anything like this and then viciously attack any of the posters who wish to discuss the information civily. It's always the same freeking people and they always get away with it. What I don't understand is why are they so insistent on saying that the information is bogus (or any number of other descriptives found in the 'keywords'), when the information is coming directly from our government websites? Anyone?

I'm still just a 'visitor' my friend ;(

Needed to share this:

Media and Bush/ Kennedy Using Lull in Debate to Attempt to Fool the American Public into Believing They are Winning

Polling Scheme is Latest in Dirty Tricks Campaign

Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal published poll results which, according to the Wall Street Journal, show the American people favoring Bush's amnesty plan (50%) over the House enforcement-only bill (33%). Poll results such as these (usually push polling designed to elicit a certain result) are used by the media to tout support for the Senate's amnesty proposal in hopes of discouraging the American people from demanding enforcement-only legislation.

We must make sure no one believes this misleading data. It is widely known that the majority of American's are in favor of enforcing our immigration laws to end illegal immigration. It is also widely known that the majority of American's do not support rewarding people who have broken our laws. We cannot allow polls like these to blur the clear line between special interest and public interest and skew the general sentiments of the majority of Americans.

Do not let the media fool you and do not let the media fool the House Leadership!
House Leadership is currently debating within its ranks what its next step on immigration reform will be. Below we have listed four key members of the House of Representatives. Please call these members' district offices today and Monday. Tell them that despite how the Bush Administration, Ted Kennedy and the mass media are distorting public opinion, you are calling to let them know that the American People want enforcement ONLY and enforcement NOW!

*Call these Members Friday, June 16 and Monday, June 19 and inform them that the American people want the House passed bill and you want enforcement NOW!
