The Ontario divison of Canada's largest union has voted to support an international campaign that is boycotting Israel over its treatment of Palestinians.
Delegates to the Canadian Union of Public Employees Ontario convention in Ottawa voted overwhelmingly Saturday to support the campaign until it sees Israel recognizing the Palestinians' right to self-determination. The Ontario group represents more than 200,000 workers.
The global campaign started last July and has been supported by many North American churches, 20 Quebec organizations, and others, Canadian Press said.
CUPE also condemned what they called Israel's "apartheid wall," saying it is illegal under international law.
"Boycott, divestment and sanction worked to end apartheid in South Africa," said Katherine Nastovski, chairwoman of the CUPE Ontario international solidarity committee.
"We believe the same strategy will work to enforce the rights of Palestinian people, including the right of refugees to return to their homes and properties."

CUPE also condemned what they called Israel's "apartheid wall," saying it is illegal under international law I was not paying 100% attention back when Apartheid ended. Were the South African blacks launching terror attacks on the whites? Were they wholly committed to destroying the whites nation to replace it with their own?
Something tells me not. That being the case, this is not an "apartheid wall" since this is not "apartheid". The only reason the palestinians do not have a state of their own right now is they turned down a sweetheart deal some years ago. As the saying goes, they never miss a chance to miss a chance.
Condemning Israel, especially for building that wall, is so shortsighted as to be blind.

Could this ever happen in the USA?

until it sees Israel recognizing the Palestinians' right to self-determinationOf course the present Hamas terrorist government of Palestine currently does not recognize Israel's right to exist, but, hey, they're just Jews, right, and after all, as the French ambassador said, Israel is a s****y little country.../sarc

The only thing the Palestinians support, in the name of their elected government, Hamas, is the end of Israel as an independent democratic State. A boycott of Israel is nothing more than a concession to terrorists who care nothing for the citizens of Israel whether they be Jews or Arabs.

"CUPE is a very powerful union in Canada."
- The disconnect between the CUPE executive and it's members is vast. Most members couldn't even tell you who is on the Committee and the first thing out of members mouths is to gripe about the dues they are forced to pay to a union that might as well be on the planet Zongo. The union executive have been like lambs for the past decade or so of the late liberal/socialist regime but I expect lots of strike action now that the Conservatives are in power.
In short, CUPE is not really about representing the best interests of it's worker members but is more about playing politics - which their access to the big wad of cash that members dues permits them to do.

If the delegates truly rep. the 200,000 workers, that
is just sick. What happened to the manhood in that country?

The PaliNazis HAVE self-determination. Since the CUPE fools never read a newspaper, they should know that Hamas terrorists are now in power.
This sort of left wing deceit will become more common in Canada. The native population is gradually dying off due to a very low European level fertility rate. The Canadians are being replaced with immigrants, a huge percentage of whom are Islamic invaders.
Hence the pandering.

Amerindians are an extremely small minority. The rest of Americans are descended from more recent immigrants. The United States should strive to maintain a monocultural, Christian influenced society.

So they're in favor of Israel's destruction... gee, whatta surprise! Not....
