Songs of the Simpleminded

Opposition to all war makes no distinction between the combatants. The nation that invades another to steal wealth and kill women and children is no more reprehensible than the nation that sets down its pots and plows and takes up arms to defend those women and children. After all, both are at war, and war, what is it good for, absolutely nothing. What must underpin the logic of anti-war songs is a belief that no one possesses the moral credibility to take up arms, to pass judgment on the actions of another. If nations are or have ever been guilty of aggression or imperialism or less-than-pure geopolitical maneuvering, than no side in a war is right and no side is wrong. Moral relativism writ large.

"Judge not, lest ye be judged."

Exactly right, scholar. The perverted meaning is exactly as I have described it, the Biblical meaning is to make sure you are upright in your own being BEFORE passing judgment against some one else. I t does NOT enjoin against making judgment at all. Did you ever wonder why a whole Book of the Bible is named "Judges?" Did you ever wonder why there are laws at all? What advanced "minds" we have appearing in cyber land.

I agree. Although, have seen libs experience real gratitude & watched their fancy attitudes change by action, towards the better side of life. No words can describe witnessing the transition, other than maybe- gratitude. Kinda funny, ain't "it"?

They don't know what they don't know. I much prefer to keep my distance and let someone else teach them the facts of life. Sorry, I just have no patience for their tom-foolery.

I've also kept my distance, for quite awhile. Just idlin' on past days. Only so many "miracles" a fella can stand, as ya know.

war, what is it good for

The original title of "War And Peace"

Just a reference to a Seinfield episode, nothing more.

Not posting in opposition...

Just expressing a personal opinion.

The nation that invades another to steal wealth and kill women and children is no more reprehensible than the nation that sets down its pots and plows and takes up arms to defend those women and children...people who aren't very bright frequently have difficulty making distinctions even as simple as this one........
