But a federal judge appointed by President Clinton told them in so many words to get over it, that the state was merely teaching kids about another "culture."

The schools can't even do a decent job of teaching Johnny about his own culture, how are they going to teach him about another culture?

This role playing that Johnny is a Muslim for two weeks has nothing to do with education. It is a distraction from the real work of learning.

Public education is a giant waste of taxpayer money.

well, i don't know about this, but the only religion I recall learning about in 6th grade social studies was Islam. And that was a long time ago.

I have a nephew that was tasked with this Islamic assignment. The curriculum is true but I don't know about the court case.

This is not new. It's been going on for at least a year in California and a woman judge on the 9th circuit (appointed by Clinton approved it.

It's like a three week course for middle school kids. They are required to take a Muslim name, study (positive things) about Islam, read the Koran and even pray to Allah.

I wish I were making it up but I'm not. Everything in the article is correct.

Okay, it IS legit. I was reeeeeeeally hoping it was a bogus story.

So much for equal treatment under the law. Apparently, only Christianity is barred from our schools.

Not really an issue for my family. Having extremely unpopular religious beliefs, we keep them to ourselves.
If you point a gun at us, we'll bow down in front of whatever god or idol you say. But you can't change the faith in our hearts. We'll continue to take a page from the Christian bible, "go into (our) closet, shut the door and pray".

School Prayer is Okay if Directed to Allah?

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has done it yet again. Recently it ruled that it’s okay to require public school students to participate in Muslim role- playing exercises, including reciting aloud Muslim prayers beginning with “In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful,” and “Praise be to Allah.”

Apparently all prayer is banned in public schools “unless” it’s prayer to Allah.

The 9th Circuit ruling also affirmed a lower court ruling that it was permissible for a California school to teach students to fight a “jihad” against Christian crusaders. The court ruled that this does not violate the constitution’s establishment clause because, rather than promoting Islam, the school was merely teaching children about other cultures.

“The fact that public schools are permitted to indoctrinate children about the ‘peaceful’ religion of Islam and, at the same time, denigrate Judeo- Christian values is outrageous and appalling,” said Karen England of Capitol Resource Institute. “It’s time for commonsense to be restored to our public schools and to the judiciary.”

Sickening isn't it! Just when you think it can't get worse ---it does!
