Imagine that, senior commanders were paying attention to events in Haditha. Yes and the batallion commander and two of his company commanders have been relieved of their commands.

"The military can handle and discipline its own on the battlefield. We don't need investigations designed to look good for the liberal press and the rest of the world." You got that right my friend. And your concept of the "sunshine patriot" is right on the money.

THANK YOU, people seem to forget the fighting that has gone on in this area. Weapons were, in fact, taken after an attack killing US Marines.

"Just what do you think combat is?..." " Fighting between combattants, not execution of unarmed women and children and an elderly amuptee in a wheel chair."
What planet have you been living on???? The fighting between the "combatants" ended in 2003! The only ones left fighting on the other side are those whose primary tactic is the "execution of unarmed women and children and ... elderly amuptee{s} in ... wheel chair{s}."
It is a terror war now. That is not to say that random slaughter is policy. But your naivete on the nature of the war in Iraq is truly frightening.

The idea we don't use technology to misfire IEDs is wrong. The insurgent terrorists learn that we change our tech and they change the detonation device to avoid a premature expolosion.
This has been going on for quite a while. One day the series of changes will be told. But it's not going to happen anytime soon.

"You seem to think I want it to be true. I don't. But..."Good! You caught my point. Now I can see you are so traumatized by Abu Garab and MeeLie (or however ya spell that Veitnam place) that you are just certain EVERYBODY is gonna give the Marines and their exceptional nation a black eye which is the self-fulfilling prophecy the propagandizing anti-war, anti-military, anti-USA MSM is hoping will materialize just by conclusion jumping syndrome!!!
These days it ain't "Loose Lips Sink Ships," it's cheap propopganda spooks superpowers! (of which there is STILL only one!)
Try to get a grip, will ya???

Unless I missed something we still have something called due process. I doubt this story to be true; doesn't pass the smell test. How exactly was it determined that the civilians were in the kneeling position? Who made that determination? Don't you think if this happened they would have moved the bodies? Too many things don't add up.

The Marines have an unprecedented level of influence under President Bush. The first Marine to serve as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the Commander of SAC and Supreme allied Commander Europe. Not bad for a group of folks that President Carter wanted to do away with. Hope someone isn't trying to take us down a notch. Semper Fi

Your "friend at NASA" should stick to rocket science. His demonstrated ignorance of remotely detonated explosive devices and the laws of electromagnetic radiation involved is breathtaking.
To: Carl/NewsMax
The Marines will be exonerated. The killing of innocents, if it occurred, was carried out by the enemy for the purpose of framing our men. Zarqawi is on record as saying the MSM is his best weapon, and he's right.

How exactly was it determined that the civilians were in the kneeling position? We need that much in our mind's eye before seeing the movie, otherwise the movie will not work at all.

There's no doubt but that the terrorists know that our guys are naturally in a state of controlled fury when they're doing a search after an IED. It would make for an easy set-up.
