The White House on Friday said a Senate bill that would grant legal status to illegal immigrants is analogous to a traffic law that allows a speeder to pay a fine and continue driving. In a stolen car.

White House compares illegal immigration to speedingThis comment is totally unacceptable, I cannot believe that Tony Snow actually made it. It offends our intelligence.
The legal American Citizen is being thrown to the lions with the useless 'Immigration Bill' and comments such as this.

"If you had a traffic ticket and you paid it, you're not forever a speeder, are you?" White House Press Secretary Tony Snow said in response to questions from The Examiner. Tony is right on here! The absurd exaggerations regarding the crime of illegal immigration by the far right are distorted and WAY out of the mainstream.

(many House Republicans regard illegal immigration as a grave crime.)
As much as I am against illegal immigration and want it stopped, I agree with the analogy. Both crimes are procedural. A serious crime is one that directly hurts another person, such as robbery or murder.

So I guess that means we native citizens can now pick which laws we wish to observe and which to break? If the government can ignore laws, are they better than those citizens they work for?
Perhaps we should declare a speed day, or a take what we need day for free, or just not pay those silly taxes.
I can barely count the number of things this government has done in the past decade that has been of a real benefit to it's citizens.
I can count dozens of things this government has done to the detriment of it's citizens. Now stated laws and the enforcement of them, have illegally been reduced to the level of a traffic violation.
While we are at it, let's reduce shop lifting to a fine, or not fine the failure to return library books to the library? Free books for everyone.
While the administration and the rest are upending our laws and they are on a roll, why not turn laws on their heads that benefit native citizens? Or are we not as entitled as illegals?

Holy Cow Tony...say it aint so!
This is not good...this is lame mon.
But you guys are sneaky in a way...you are MISDIRECTING the discussion...AWAY from the other recipients of amnesty...the EMPLOYERS...and focusing the debate on a red herring discussion of the illegals themselves....and what is amnesty as a legal, technical issue.
The false choice here is trying to make the point that its all or nothing...its either complete forgivenes...i.e....amnesty...or its not...and if there is some penalty...any kind of penalty...no matter how trivial...well its not amnesty, and it must be reasonable.
There is PARTIAL AMNESTY you see, whatever term you want to call it...all kinds and types...kind of like plea bargaining. An 80% amnesty is still too much.
Back to the misdirection....
Meanwhile...the employers get to reap the rewards of their past illegal behavior...keep the profits..no back taxes.....and avoid any prosecution from the IRS.
Thats amnesty....TAX amnesty for one thing.
Hey pols..you want to run for reelection and have your opponent tar you with the line ..."his buddies got away with murder with the IRS...big business buddies...while working men and women lose their jobs to illegals."
Go ahead...run with that record....

No Tony, the analogy is more like not filing or paying your income tax. And when you get caught, the IRS doesn't give you amnesty. They freeze your bank accounts, garnish your wages, seize your property, and throw you in jail. Sometimes till you die, right Al Capone?
Tony also said that the enforcement issue is now behind us since the President is sending 6000 National Guard troops to the border to wash Border Patrol trucks and patch up the fences the aliens cut the night before. Yeah, right.
I often wonder what it is in the Beltway water that makes heretofore sane and logical people become babbling buffoons. Tony Snow used to be a straight shooter; now within two weeks he has become a caricature more fitting for a Simpson's episode. Maybe we should start calling him Smithers.
What is even sadder is that in his own mind Tony considers himself in touch with us average slobs. This is a guy who for the last 25 years wines and dines with Presidents and senators and elitist insiders, who picks up the phone and gets big shots to answer. There are no day labor dorm houses next door that he worries about, and the clientle at the White House mess is rather different from what we run into on our slurppie run to the 7-11 or the english-free zone at the local Wal-Mart.
What is even sadder is the lecturing and talking-down we now get from him. He and these amnesty morons will find out how stupid we are come November when we stay home or just vote for the brave Congressmen who will stop this nonsense (unless Karl I-almost-blew-a-sure-election-to-a-Massachusetts-moron Rove further opens up the pork barrel with earmark bribes).
Thanks Tony. Good to know how stupid you think we are.

Anyone who has visited a city in Mexico knows that most of the homes have bars on the windows and doors and that it's unsafe for anyone to walk the streets at night, it will soon be the same way here.
I'm not saying that all Mexican's are criminals but many are and the proof is there if anyone is willing to take a look.

Whit House press Release
White House just announced:
We like the steaming pile that the senate passed and now we have every intention of strongarming the house until it passses more or less untouched. For all you idiot rubes out there that don't think this is exactly what we are going to do, we urge you to remember how we forced CAFTA through over your objections.
You see we don't care what you think, not in the least, our constituency is the big corporations and the transnational organzations like the UN and the NGOs.
Don't like it tough, who are you gonna vote for a Democrat? Just remember they'll make abortions and gay weddings mandatory, they'll come after your chitlun's. And anyway they would advocate much the same plan, may even make it easier to get gun control laws passed that we claim not to support. Third party? *snort* ha,ha, that would just be a vote for the democrats.
And After all, we can't forget that some guy that's been in a Marine for 26 years is not an American when we clearly have laws on the books naturalizing any such person after 4 years. But you uneducated, hick, rubes, that call yourselves conservatives are too stupid to know that.
Of course, this would be if the White House suddenly had an attack of brutally honesty.

"What's going on now, in calling it a pathway to citizenship or earned legalization, is not honest because it is amnesty," he said at a news conference. It's amnesty and if it passes America will pass too.

Tony Snow can't really believe what he is telling us!
The man gets a new job and this is what The President wants Tony to try to sell us on!
Good Grief Mr. President.

There's a huge difference between getting a ticket and being an illegal immigrant.
To get a ticket, you have to have a car, a license, an ability to understand and read signs, car insurance, and you have to pay a fine AND pay more for insurance.
To get picked up for illegal immigrant, you have to go up to a border agent the first few miles in, and moon him. He'll give you a stern warning and a ride back to the border.
