In a series of moves unprecedented in modern Party history Washington State Republican Chair Diane Tebelius this morning led a blackout session of the State Executive Board to ban the Ronald Reagan Wing of the Party from a display booth at the State Convention, reversing her position for the second time in less than a week. Whatever accusations were made of the group behind closed doors will remain unknown because, according to National Committeeman Jeff Kent, every member present was banned from talking about the session. There was no hearing of any kind, no defense allowed, no reasons given for the action. It was the perfect capper to a day Diane spent, alternately, talking about "unity" and attacking conservatives.
The Reagan Wing, a grassroots organization made up of many elected delegates to the convention, has been preparing for weeks to set up a vendor booth to sell t-shirts and buttons and distribute literature advocating conservative positions on issues such as illegal immigration, property rights and social issues. Every convention year, the party rents approximately 50 vendor booths to grassroots Republican groups, issue advocates, candidate campaigns and merchants displaying their literature and merchandise in the hours preceding the actual convention. The Reagan Wing filled out the necessary paperwork and paid the $150 fee almost 2 weeks ago and has since been taken on a roller-coaster ride with Tebelius's mood swings.
It was the end of a week of almost unbelieveable hypocrisy for Tebelius. Last weekend Washington Mainstream Republicans, the Washington State affiliate of Republican Mainstreet Partnership which advocates liberal positions on abortion and gay rights as well as fiscal issues like last year's state gas tax increase, held their Cascade Conference where they highlighted their many disagreements with the views of most grassroots Republicans. They announced their plans to run an ad campaign to oppose I-933, a property rights initiative and attempt to fill every Republican PCO vacancy in Washington with their brand, to essentially take over the Republican Party. In nearly every newspaper that covered the story, Tebelius responded, "The Republican Party has a big tent," and "so what" if they disagree [with the Republican position on issues]. But apparently, the "big tent" has no room for a Republican group that seeks to preserve Republican positions on issues.
The state GOP has been less than useless for some time.
Sadly, our state party is reflecting the disenfranchisement of Conservatives and Conservative ideology from the party at all levels. Would it kill the Liberals to let this group have one small booth? Apparently so.
the GOP split over immigration is not about immigration but a battle for control of the GOP between the RINO's and Reaganites
Okay, it's official, folks. The Republican party is deliberately self destructing and the results will be President Hillary. It's "her turn" and in order to make it happen, RINOs and traitors have made their power play insuring that conservatives will throw in the towel and stay home on election day. Deals have been struck in smokey back rooms and we've been had....
And no, I'm not wearing a tin foil hat!
It's little wonder I haven't paid dues for a couple years. Why support who refuses to represent me?
Anyone know where all the true conservatives have gone?
Oh yeah??? Well my state GOP is more worthless than your's!!!!!!
And when Hillary is done, there won't be much of a GOP for the RINO's and Reaganites to fight over.
Add what happened in the state of Taxes recently in their special session. I am starting to agree with you. Where go I order by tin foil hat ?
I Don't think you are too far off base!
I've never joined. Though I'm thinking that I will join and take the damn thing over and start getting conservatives elected.
I'm sure there is some stiff competition out there.
Nunnh unh! Mine is !!
Sure starting to look and feel that way.
Kinda like a girlfriend telling you, "Let's just be friends, OK?"
If Rush said that it was pretty stupid. Especially considering Reagan gave amnesty to millions of Illegals.
But Rush has not been very sharp of late. By today's standards Reagan would just be another RINO.
California suffered the same fate again this year as well.
The party wants the base's vote but nothing to do with their stances on issues and concerns they raised on party direction.
Tin foil or not your comment is still false.
It certainly does, and that is exactly what the Left is doing.
A one party socialistic monopoly by two separate but equal groups.
More useless than NY's GOP? No way. Ever
That is why I tell every pollster who calls when their question is....
between these candidates, who are you most likely to vote for?
My answer : none of the above.
My phone has been ringing off the hook lately
Yah, this is f*&king bull$!it.
The so-called 'Reagan Wing' always claims this crap whenever they don't get their way.
It's the same folks that threw a fit when fringe Senate candidate Reed Davis refused to play by the convention rules (i.e. he said openly he planned on using his speech to trash other members of the party) and sign something saying he wouldn't, something every single other candidate did. Now, if you want to argue that those rules weren't right, fine, and as a matter of fact, those rules were changed, but it had nothing to do with unfair treatment.
I'm not intimately involved with this particular incident, but I wouldn't believe these folks if they told me the sun came up in the east and set in the west.
There are some true nutcases running around the WA State Republican party. And I'm not just talking ab out all-or-nothing Conservatives, I'm talking about tin-foil-hat weirdos that are constantly complaining about everything and attribute everything to a conspiracy (aka Phil Spackman).
