Dean: Dem's Legal Woes Don't Compare To GOP Corruption
CNSnews ^ | May 25, 2006 | Randy Hall

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said Wednesday that there is no comparison between the ethical problems faced by U.S. Rep. William Jefferson (D- La.) and what he termed the Republican "culture of corruption" in the nation's capital. A GOP spokesman dismissed Dean's criticism as "trying to sell a fundamentally flawed campaign slogan."

"There's a difference between the involvement of Congressman Jefferson in activities for which there's been no indictment and the culture of corruption that extends throughout the White House, the vice president's office and both houses of Congress," Dean said during a press conference at the DNC headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Dean's DNC was directly involved in a Jefferson-related controversy in March, when a fund-raiser for the congressman was held at the party headquarters

You go Howard!

According to that "logic," I could walk into a kindergarten graduation and gun down a roomful of five-year olds, and when they flash my mug on the evening news, I can say my behavior wasn't so bad because there's been no indictment.

I guess our illustrious Congressmen think they are all owed a "heads-up" (time to hide the evidence) before any "investigation can proceed.

He's right, they will be worse. About a month ago the AP published a list of 'bipartisan' corruption cases. Before Cunningham, the most recent twelve convicted congressmen were all Dems. They had to go back to around 1983 to list one GOP congressman caught in Abscam just so they could make their list 'bipartisan,' ha ha ha.

In other words, "Republican corruption is bad. Democratic corruption is good."

I noticed he did not mention Alan Mollohan (D-WV) who is under investigation BIG TIME.

So, how is this game played Howie? The party with the most indicted Congressional members loses?

Breathtaking. So, the minute Jefferson's indicted, there will be a "Democrat Culture of Corruption" that includes Pelosi and her colleages backdating reports of (lobbyist financed) boondoggles, Harry Reid's quid pro quo campaign contributions from the Indian tribes (read: Jack Abramoff) and that W Virginia Demo Congressman who made Clinton cattle futures-like money off his position.

William Jefferson, Democrat, Louisiana, I want to say thank you. Thank you for putting the final nail in Howard and Nancy's "Culture of Corruption" ploy and starting the new "We Aren't as Corrupt as the Culture of Corruption" ploy. Brilliant, simply brilliant. Oh, and props to you Ms. McKinney, and Mr. Kennedy and that guy from West Virginia who is the worst of them all and actually sat on the ethics panel. Brilliant, you all deserve major kudos.

I'll try to find it, but it might take a couple of days. I thought it was quite hillarious as I had to scroll through dem, dem ,dem, dem, etc., 'oh wait, here's the GOP guy, 1983, Abscam, yes this is such an example of bipartisan corruption,' ha ha ha.

You gotta love these people on the left.

First our country is up to its EARS in corruption and incompetance throughout the Clinton Presidency... corruption and incompetance that ultimately led to the deaths of many good Americans on September 11th. When we finally get a decent administration in office, all the Democrats can do is moan and complain and work to sabotage this country's efforts at every turn. They go to great lengths to point out to the world how "wrong" we are for freeing Iraq and Afghanistan as we work to wipe out the foul stench of Islamofascism. Heck, they even go to extreme lengths to oppose programs meant to keep us safe by SPYING on our enemies by saying that they infringe on OUR rights!

And yet a few charges of corrupt activity get thrown our way and WE are the party of corruption. I swear, you can't make this stuff up.
