Now you see the fallacy of having Senators elected only every 6 years. They feel they can do a thy like instead of the wishes of the people.

In a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people" all politicians should be limited to two-year terms so the people could fire those who are doing a poor job every two years. Judges should also stand for election, including Supreme Court justices. We either have elected government or we don't. This quasi-democracy only leads to dissatifaction of the people who correctly feel that special interests are in charge of our government.

No. the fallacy is having them elected by popular vote instead of the state legislatures like the US Consitution origially intended. As it is now, just about all Senators are beholden to interst groups ourside their home state. (they get most of their money from groups outside their state). Originally the Senate was the check and balance for States rights. The check and balance for the people is the house.

This is also why it's stupid to have amendments made to the constitution. Our forefathers were a LOT smarter than the Yahoos who changed things from the senators being sent by each state legislature to being directly elected by the people. Had that change never been made, you would see no campaign finance law required, you'd see those people change their act overnight to represent the people of their state instead of thinking they are some kind of national figure. Face it, the senate has gotten out of hand.
