WASHINGTON, D.C. â Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) recently won four awards for his support of lower taxes, less government spending and other conservative causes. Tancredo received the U.S. Chamber of Commerceâs Spirit of Enterprise Award, the National Taxpayersâ Unionâs Friend of the Taxpayer Award, the American Conservative Unionâs âBest and Brightestâ for his 100 percent conservative rating, and the Susan B. Anthony Listâs Protection of the Unborn Award.
âThe Sixth District sent me to Congress to reduce the size of government, lower taxes, protect the unborn and secure our borders,â said Tancredo. âI am humbled and honored by the wide array of conservative organizations that have recognized my work.â
âTom is a leader who has fought for legislation to spur job creation, increase productivity and keep our economy growing.â said Thomas J. Donohue, U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO. âWeâre proud to present him with this award on behalf of Americaâs businesses, both large and small.â The U.S. Chamber is the world's largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector and region.
âIf every Member of Congress had voted as responsibly as Rep. Tancredo did in 2005, Americans could enjoy much lower taxes and less waste in government. Overburdened taxpayers in Colorado and across the nation owe Rep. Tancredo a debt of gratitude for his hard work on their behalf,â said John Berthoud, President of the National Taxpayers Union.
Starting to like this guy for 2008. Anybody know where he stands on the Second Amendment?
The way things are going, I have a strange feeling Tancredo is going to get caught with a hooker in a sleazy hotel.
L
"This actually comes from Tancredo's own office."
Who else are you going to hear it from? The MSM? The White House who won't let him inside it?
LOL! I guess I just didn't expect the self congratulations to be so...humble.
He'll disjoint his arm patting himself too much on the back.
Oh wait, there's my favorite! He's just a one-trick pony!
Please. The man is as conservative as they come.
I'd prefer to see Mike Pence come out of the House and on the ticket in 2008, but that doesn't detract from Tancredo. He's a solid conservative and doesn't deserve the flack people throw at him.
You left one thing out, he never misses an opportunity to toot his own horn.
Clicked on the links, and he looks solid to me - I don't quite see why he rates only a B+ from the NRA...
Defense is our most important consideration, and it will be so in 2008 and far beyond. If Tom were to run for the presidency, the Democrats would dig and more than address defense related issues. Hypocrites that they are, they would take a pro-defense position while slinging mud. The need to dump public education and the NEA is also important to many.
It is important to think through any and all situations and consequences in advance.
If our current president knew how to toot his horn a little better, maybe his approval rating wouldn't be in the thirties.
If the tooting is warranted, toot away, Congressman Tancredo.
"I am really sick of the nit-pickers on the site that attack a person that has stood up the white house and the elites for a very long time."
Anybody that bashes Tancredo is not a conservative. At best they're RINO's blinded by their can do no wrong Bush.
