The Justice Department issued a new denial in response to the ABC late-evening update.
"With regard to reports suggesting that the Speaker of the House is under investigation or 'in the mix,' as stated by ABC News, I reconfirm, as stated by the Department earlier this evening, that these reports are untrue," Deputy Attorney General Paul J. McNulty said in a statement issued shortly after midnight Thursday.

It is the seriousness of the allegations by the MSM, not the veracity, that is important. /s

I agree. But this back and forth reporting on this and ABC and Ross just wrong on the facts makes them look pathetic, Rather-lite.

We should start a pool with the winner being the one who picks the time of ABC's reupdate. :-)

With the current state of public cynicism, public denials can be just as damaging as the scurrilous charge.

10:21 p.m. May 24th. Link here. The blog comments for the update are pretty funny. Looks like a FReeperfest.

Obviously the MSM Propaganda Agents of the Democrat Party are Hell-bent in doing cover-up work, in a desperate attempt to change the publics focus from the Democrats corruption in regards to Jefferson and his 100,000 dollars stuffed into a freezer.
At least until Pelosi and the rest of their Mob Bosses are successful for all intents and purposes in having him sleep with the fishes, which so far he is putting up a real struggle against.
It would be easier to find Jimmy Hoffa, than a headline about William Jefferson.

You are right but that will change because the feds have already said Jefferson is going to be charged soon. A few weeks off but serious charges are coming.

LOL! Thanks for the heads up, that is pretty funny. We must be some of those kneejerk right-wingers they were talking about.

serious charges are coming. You've got that right and he's going to do hard time. They've got Jefferson nailed and I think Pelosi knows it, that's why she wanted him to step down from Ways and Means, IMO.

ABC makes up news all the time.
Watching alphabet channel news is like watching any other fictional TV show.

I see this is just a shot over the bow by Karl Rove. I would bet that a lot of little scandals will come out about any representative that is against the immigration crap coming out of the senate.

What a mess. But Hassert seems totally ineffective. This is his payback for supporting corrupt Democrats. Maybe he's learned his lesson. The media, well, this is what happens when 90% of them are Democrats. Can we start over and form a new media.
