Despite a flat denial from the Department of Justice, federal law enforcement sources tonight said ABC News accurately reported that Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert is "in the mix" in the FBI investigation of corruption in Congress.
Speaker Hastert said tonight the story was "absolutely untrue" and has demanded ABC News retract its story.
Law enforcement sources told ABC News that convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff has provided information to the FBI about Hastert and a number of other members of Congress that have broadened the scope of the investigation. Sources would not divulge details of the Abramoff’s information.
"You guys wrote the story very carefully but they are not reading it very carefully," a senior official said.
One focus involves a letter Hastert wrote in 2003 urging the Secretary of the Interior to block an Indian casino that would have competed with tribes represented by Abramoff.

As someone already said, bttt, or Bump, pushes the article to the top. There are two ways to view FR and here's how you can toggle between the two if you so desire. On the page where you view articles, near the top on the right there are the words "Threads" and "Messages." You are probably viewing FR in "Threads." In Threads you view each article, they are listed right down the page as they were posted. If you click on "Messages" you will view each REPLY to an article. The "messages" view goes by quicker because more people are responding to already posted articles than actual articles are being posted. So when someone posts BTTT, what they are in essence doing is pushing the thread to the top of the "Messages" view and those who view FR in the "Messages" view will have more opportunities to see it go by. If you view FR in the "Threads" view, BTTT doesn't really make a lot of sense.
It's interesting to sometimes view FR in "Messages" to see what are the hot threads, the ones people are posting a lot of replies to.

You're right there. Another mistake that they make is they somehow seem to think that FR is representative of conservative America. If that were true then they would make up less then one percent of the membership and postings.

Right now, I think Ross is really, really hoping the story is right because if not (and it is not) he has been caught in a sting and his source or sources have either been identified or soon will be.

As much as we get frustrated with our GOP leadership and this POTUS sometimes, it is very easy to realize they are a hell of allot better than a Reid senate or Pelosi house with Conyers on the judiciary committee.
