...Diana Irey and a busload of supporters headed to D.C. to demand Murtha apologize to Marines for recently accusing some of them of being cold-blooded killers.
...
"Mr. Murtha's comments, I believe, were irresponsible and they put our men and women serving overseas in greater danger," Irey said.
Murtha recently said several Marines killed at least 15 Iraqi civilians in cold blood last November and said action should be taken.
While the U.S. military doesn't dispute the congressman's claim, Irey said Murtha is in the wrong.
"Being a former Marine himself, he should know they have a process in place to take care of situation that may have happened that should not have happened," Irey said.
"By coming out and calling them 'cold-blooded killers,' he's already tainted the minds and possible jury of those who will be hearing these allegations."
Irey's visit to Washington, D.C., comes on the heels of Murtha receiving the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for speaking out against the war.
Irey said she believes many eye the Kennedy family with suspicions and said she's never heard anything positive about the award.

You're doing good work Coop.
We shouldn't let this scumbag get away with defaming the troop's
Thanks for taking the point on this one! Murtha's cruel and totally unjustified accusations are nothing but another lame attempt to 'Vietnamize' Iraq. Getting called out by Irey helps us keep the libtards from losing what so many have sacrificed to win.
Even if by some strange twist she loses, that action of donating alone will speak louder than all the hot air coming out of the Murtha cakehole....
and it will give us a sense of pride that we did something truly patriotic, not quite rising to the sacrifice of the founding fathers, most of whom spent their fortunes on the revolution and died poor, scorned and hated by their bitter neighbors who lost sons and never saw the fruits of the war for independence in their lifetimes....(blah,blah,blah etc)
c'mon what more can a hundred bucks buy, a tank of gas ? after Murtha is pulled kicking and screaming from his seat, imagine the sense of pride in knowing you helped make history
Thanks for the ping!
Absolutely. Film this guy everywhere he goes. Ask him to explain himself.
:-} Painfully funny! You mention Ms. Irey losing by some "strange twist." Let's be clear. She's still an underdog going against an entrenched, well-funded incumbent. She has an uphill battle. But it's a winnable battle, if we all channel our anger.
And I thank you for supporting her campaign in the many ways you identified.
Murtha is total scum, wish I lived in Penn, I'd be handing out flyers for Irey.
They should search his shorts and find out why some things are missing, instead of what they might find...
You can still write letters to the editor and spread word of her campaign to other veterans and especially friends/family living in western PA.
