Sean is doing a pretty good job exploring this issue of separation of powers and where it applies and where it doesn't. I think every member of congress ought to add to their staff a regular human being who does not and never has worked in the beltway and who lives in the heartland. Before they do something stupid like open their mouths, they would have to call that person and ask what do you think of my saying this, for example, that congress is above the law and cannot be served with a valid warrant. They would save themselves a lot of grief.
