Plus.. it is the ACTIVE ones who pay attention that are the PRIMARY voters.. not the dumb pop culture types....

Even the GOP leaders are secretly very scared....

they won't ever admit it in public.. but they know that the tide has tuned against their support of incumants...

they are scrambling...

more money than ever is being spent on mailers, etc... in races thought to be safe....they are worried...

Good, they should be worried. My congressman is a good guy but if he weren't, I'd sure try to get him beat in the primary.

Primaries are notoriously low-voter turnout so if that voting base changes, incumbents had better look out.
