true, but nobody here is talking about going after the employers who hire them....

my solution: 5k fine for each illegal hired. then see how many still get hired.
let's be fair about this. lots of americans make money from illegal labor.

Sounds good but there is a major problem with that.
The problem is that it would generate revenue through fines for the government. The more money the government gets, the more it spends. If the program worked and the revenue stream evaporated, the government (who never spends less, only more) would eventually tax you for the money the fines used to bring in. For example, federal and state taxes on cigarettes...they stopped a large majority of smokers, now they have to tax the whole of America to replace that revenue.
There are current penalties and punishments already on the books for people who violate IRS, ICE and other rules; simply enforce them.
Never, never, never generate a new revenue stream for the government. It will never end and will only expand as out of control spending consumes it.
