Would they have to plate the tubes to use for a missile, or for uranium enrichment?

No. This is for corroison protection purposes, or maybe bearing surfaces if it's not a zinc bath.

The only chemical that would be used to put a coating on the Al missile tubes would be the sulfuric acid to put an anodized coating on it. Plating Al would require an electroless bath and I don't see the chems for that. Organic solvents for aprotic baths either.
