I gotta be honest, I don't even believe Israel has the fortitude to defend itself fully & with no compromise. Too many Freepers think that this is the 1972 Israel. It's 2006, they are infested with weak people these days. If they took a severe hit, I doubt they would muster much resistance.

This isn't your grandfather's Israel, kids.

Israel his been fighting for it's survival since it's inception. The tiny country is surrounded by Arab countries who can't agree on anything except Israel must be destroyed.

Israel has the fortitute to defend itself to the very end.

I hear what you are saying but I think eventually, they as well as us, will have the cajones to do what is necessary. Not something to be taken lightly. We are near the end my FRiend.

Hmmm. Interesting observation. You won't find anyone who would agree more that the current "leadership" (quotes fully intended as sarcasm) is weak. But there is a deeply ingrained attitude that, when the existence of the state is put directly on the line, the Israelis are prepared to open up ye olde can of whoopass with a capital A. Unfortunately, they seem prepared to allow the existence of the state to be threatened in little increments, like the frog in the pot metaphor. Ironically, that may be worse, because they may have lost it before they really know it, Heaven Forbid.

While I agree that Israel suffers from some weak leadership and leftist leanings these days, the phrase "never again!" still means something.
