What specifically makes you think Dubya could talk Americans into supporting a third military adventure in the Mid East to avenge the crater that is Tel Aviv?

What makes you think Dubya would ask the American people anything in that case? This President would do what he felt necessary. He would not take a poll, get a "sense of the Congress resolution" or wait to hear what Katie Couric had to say about it.

Thats exactly right. In the case of a nuclear launch the buck stops with the Prez. He doesnt have to ask the public to launch the big ones.

I don't think Dubya would survive the political aftermath of nuking another country. He'd be run out of office. A president can't do whatever he wants. Without the support of most Americans, he is weak.
