Actually it completely refutes your point. You tried to equate all "abominations" and I showed quite plainly that there are different words for "abomination" with different meanings, and that one of those words had different meanings depending on the context.
Do you work hard to eliminate all *abominations* or just one, and if only one, why?
It is not our responsibility to try to eliminate all abominations. It is our responsibility to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. It is our responsibility not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor to stand in the way with sinners, nor to sit in the seat of the scoffers. Therefore, if someone comes into a church and tries to force that Church to accept and condone a behavior that the Bible specifically prohibits (both in the OT and the NT), that person or group should be opposed by the Church. Perhaps you haven't noticed in all of your assertions of "hatred", but this is not a case where people are trying to criminalize homosexuality; it is a case where a group of homosexuals is trying to force acceptance of their perverse lifestyle on the Church.
We see that differently. My view is that if you work to eliminate one abomination then you should work to eliminate them all - or have a good reason why not.
Would you say that you do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. ?
I believe that people have petitioned churches to change throughout their history - have they not?
