In contrast, the Chinese and Indian growth rates show how freeing up an economy produces rapid growth, and the continued contrast between the United States and Europe makes the same point. Free-market economic growth is enabling millions of people to rise out of poverty every year, even more than the experts expect. As the IMF writes, "The momentum and resilience of the global economy in 2005 continued to exceed expectations."

I've always like Barone. His good news is certain to drive the posts on this thread to single digits.

Yes, whenever I go out for dinner in our local area, I am shocked, SHOCKED I TELL YOU, by having to trip over the thousands of "poor disenfranchised voters" in soup kitchen lines who have (damn it) beaten me to a reservation at the one of our nicer restaurants!

It's also damn hard to spot them when they hide in those "gas-guzzlin'" SUVs they bought with their low Walmart wages.

Good grief...what's a poor fat American to do?
