Sulzberger's Sorry (too busy destroying journalism, NY Times publisher forgot to change the world)
NY Post ^ | May 23, 2006 | Richard Johnson

Posted on 05/23/2006 10:41:57 AM PDT by dead

NEW York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. made "an apology" to graduates of SUNY New Paltz on Sunday that he and his generation weren't able to revolutionize the world.

Sounding more radical than any of his Op-Ed columnists, the commencement speaker declared: "When I graduated in 1974, my fellow students and I ended the Vietnam war and ousted President Nixon. OK. OK. That's not quite true. Maybe there were larger forces at play. Either way, we entered the real world committed to making it a better, safer, cleaner, more equal place. We were determined not to repeat the mistakes of our pedecessors. We had seen the horror of war and smelled the stench of government corruption. Our children, we vowed, would never know that. So, well, I am sorry."

But wait, there's more. Kingston Daily Freeman reporter Paul Kirby also quotes Sulzberger as saying, "It wasn't supposed to be this way. You weren't supposed to be graduating in an America fighting a misbegotten war in a foreign land. You weren't supposed to be graduating into a world where we are still fighting for fundamental human rights, be it the rights of immigrants to start a new life, the right of gays to marry, or the rights of women to choose."

You get the idea.

HOGWASH

Kept that little card in his pocket ready to play it whenever he disagreed with the sitting administration.

We've been told that EVERY war since Vietnam was going to be "another Vietnam" and "just wait till the bodybags start coming home".

The antiAmerican (yet proPalestinian) war activists estimated 50,000 dead US soldiers and 1million dead Iraqis.

This is why we should keep Dems out of the WH at all costs.

In the culturally retarded world of DemocraticUnderground, it is considered irrefutable that the NY Times is a rightwing mouthpiece for the GOP.

What an egomaniac. It's as if HE had the power to change man and creation but forgot to do it. He should be apologizing for being so arrogant as to believe that he was so elite and superior to all who had gone before him that he could change humanity and creation by his own ability and willpower. What a santimonious, holier than thou, idiot.

The problem with today's "journalist"!

NEW York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. made "an apology" to graduates of SUNY New Paltz on Sunday that he and his generation weren't able to revolutionize the world.

Just the facts please, just the facts!

I feel like calling him an idiot and a fool, but the Bible tells me I should pray for him instead. Like many on the left, the hatred almost oozes from this guy. They preach love, but their policies dehumanize people and support depravity.

Everyone one of these bozos giving commencement addresses makes it all about themselves. How about some simple motivating and congratulatory words for the grads?

Do you suppose anybody in the audience had to nerve to ask him about NYT, Inc's 50% stock price decline? Or whether any of that collapse in value might be related to his determination to use his rear-view mirror as the only means of steering the Gray Lady into the future?

He's got the power all right; one of a very few gun carry permits issued in NYC.

be it the rights of immigrants to start a new life, the right of gays to marry, or the rights of women to choose."

That's Illegal immigrants, a special right for gays, and it's a woman's fundamental right to murder her child. No wonder the left is so screwed up!

Unless, of course, it is a democrat - then we look the other way or even support the corruption.

You weren't supposed to be graduating into a world where we are still fighting for fundamental human rights, be it the rights of immigrants to start a new life, the right of gays to marry, or the rights of women to choose."

Human rights as defined by socialist monsters. I'll take the human rights defined in the US Constitution - the freedom of speech, the right to keep and bear arms, etc.

The Marxist Homosexual Punch has been very successful in driving down the stock value of the Ny Slimes, NYT in the past two years. Below is the two year stock price comparison chart of the leading dinosaur fishwraps versus Hal, Haliburton.

Another richie-rich "revolutionary", who has had everything handed to him on a silver platter, but fancies himself "oppressed". What pond scum. The sooner these over-pampered, under-talented Boomers become worm food, the better for society. They have never connected to reality, probably due to all the drug use in their younger days, and the world will not mourn their miserable mouthing-off. They are legends in their own mind, but even their children despise them.
