I still say he cannot win the support of social conservatives because of his positions on Abortion, same-sex marriage and gun control.

Yu're right, and it makes Republicans look bad. Part of our message since 911 is for dems to put their social concerns on the backburner while we concentrate on the War on Islamic Terrorism.

Now we have a GOPer who is strong on the War on Terrorism, but wobbly on some conservative social issues. Now some Republicans are duplicitous - THEIR social agenda stuff is important, while the dem's social agenda stuff was to be sacrificed by them in the interest of the war.

They have no intent to compromise on their own social issues, while insisting their opponents compromise. They are talking out of their @ss, frankly. It stinks, they are phonies and clearly full of it.

They make all GOPers look bad.

Now we have a GOPer who is strong on the War on Terrorism . . .

What evidence do you have of this?

And I hate to break this to everyone out there, but for most voters the so-called "war on terror" hasn't been a major political issue in this country in almost four years.

Gun control isn't a "social concern" it's a constitutional concern.

***Now we have a GOPer who is strong on the War on Terrorism***

Two questions.

  1. What "GOPer" are you speaking of? Rudy is a DEM.
  2. What "War on terrorism"? If we were truly at war, our borders would be, and have been sealed long ago - period.

Oops, make that 3 questions ..

  3. There is no such thing as "War on Islamic Terrorism", ask Dubya. So what are you referring to?

And saying Rudy is "wobbly on some conservative social issues" is like saying Willie Sutton made unauthorized bank withdrawals. Or when the MSM calls Illegal Aliens, "Undocumented Entrants". Rudy is flaming Northeastern Liberal - period. He isn't 'wobly' he DETESTS all conservative social issues.

He would at the most carry NY and CA. But since he won't get the nomination, that's a moot point.
