Google is removing conservative news sites from its news roll!
Is Google Purging Conservative News Sites?
Interesting
i typed in freerepublic in google and got 4 1/2 million hits
Ha! Well done!
Is there a better alternate to Google? I'm more than happy to avoid a biased search engine...
Is yahoo search any better?
As an aside, for those who don't know:
From Wikipedia:
Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels (October 29, 1897 May 1, 1945) was Adolf Hitler's Propaganda Minister (see Propagandaministerium) in Nazi Germany. Goebbels was known for his zealous and energetic oratory, virulent antisemitism, and perfection of the so-called Big Lie technique of mass propaganda.
I use www.alltheweb.com . I've used it for years...used to be powered by Dell here in Texas, not sure who runs it now. But it's just as fast and just as good as Google.
Brilliant.
ah, its Yahoo.
Google Fight is cool.

I just picked up the two latest posts on FR; didn't notice they were from the same article with different titles. The other link is a keyword search for "google" on FR. Google has a fairly checkered past when it comes to fair play for things conservative, so the more exposure the better???
Is there a better alternate to Google?
For general searches, probably not. There are of course specialized search engines for specific subjects/topics that would probably work better for specialized applications.

Yahoo's not bad, but they've had their share of bad press also re things conservative. They seem to try a little harder than the goobers at google to keep it "fair and balanced".
I use Answers.com. Gives me the 'Dictionary' entry for my search so I can at least sound like I know what I am typing. While presenting links to my matches.
So far, seems to be fairly non-biased.
Of course Google is guilty of the accusations, and this isn't new. It's been reported on here many times. During the 2004 election, for example, people posted right here on FR about Google cancelling their paid text ads that linked to their sites that sold conservative bumper stickers and such, while their liberal counterparts roar on unimpeded.
MM
Yeah, but they didn't have a nifty, super duper deluxe, hot off the presses graphic to match ;^) Pics tend to leave a lasting impression when words can get lost in the surrounding noise, eh? Maybe the goobers at google will see it, and maybe realize their slight of hand isn't going unnoticed. I gotta believe at some point even the leftist utopian dreamers would question why their positions can't stand up under scrutiny or debate, and must continuously be propped up with various and sundry schemes.......or not.

Yeah, I think I've seen most of it. Makes one wonder what it is about the liberal mindset that creates such a gaggle of lying busybodies.
It's a compilation site, shows results from Google, Yahoo, Ask.com, & MSNsearch...
Another good one is Lycos.com
Generally speaking, if one search engine is showing a bias, it would have to show up, unless absolutely ALL search engines were doing the same thing..
Was google one of those who, along with microsoft and others, caved to the Chicoms and altered their search machines to be unable to transmit anything embarrassing to the PRC - like Tienmen Square? Anything for a contract to do business in a 1.4 billion person market!
I'm almost sure of it. Money talks.....agendas are free.
(Or better yet, use a HOSTS file and block them entirely.)
I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've ever clicked on an ad link. They rarely have any relevance to what I'm actually trying to find.
One observation: I have noticed times when I might go for two or three days without using a search engine(Google primarily), my ISP's spam catcher has a lot less junk mail in it. Coincidence???
