Excellent article, goes down the list of vulnerable Republicans.
People better re-think the "lst the Dems win" strategy.

Conservatives sitting out 2006 hurts the GOPs right, not the RINOs Conservatives not acting like CONSERVATVES hurts the GOP

Great article and one that should be read by every FREEPER and lurker and taken to heart.

I will only vote for a Party that believes in small, limited government. For that reason, I have never voted democratic. For that reason, I will NOT vote Republican again until the Party shows that it once again believes in a less intrusive, less costly, and smaller, more limited govt.
I have no problem just 'sitting it out' until then.

Sherrod Brown, who has a lifetime rating of 8 and 4 for 2005. Even Karl Marx has a 9 rating. LOL :-)

Spot on, true conservatives are not quitters and wont give up.
RINOS agenda would advance if conservatives dont play the political game, the buchanites dont advance conservatism in this nation.

Much as I wish it were untrue, Geraghty has a point. All you have to do is look at the United Kingdom. When the Conservatives started losing elections, they started tacking to the left. My feeling is that if conservatives want to register their objections, the time to do it is during the primaries.
Vote for RINOs, you just get more RINOs.

I woke up this morning thinking about this. There are a lot of 'let 'em sink' so-called conservatives on this forum.
Each of us supposedly has, at most, 2 votes - one for a Senator, one for a congresscritter. Those are the only two votes we get. The primary is the place to express your rage at the lack of conservatism. If it is not there, why has the state/local party not coming up with conservatives that are willing to run?
Withholding money from the RNC is not the same thing as not voting.

"Whats really stunning is this absolute certainty of angry conservatives that A) Republicans will learn the right lessons from the defeat, and not, say, respond in a panic by embracing their inner RINO and flailing around for MSM approval and B) that the Republicans can easily win back Congress in 2008, just by stiffening their spines and pledging to return to their conservative roots. " Republicans in name only that vote with the democrats are useless. They water down what CONSERVATIVE Republicans attempt to accomplish.

We're fooling ourselves if we think GOP losses will send a message to RINOs.
The media spin will be "the American voters have rejected conservatism and moved to the center (left)." The RINOs will believe it and move in lock step; the average Joe will believe it, too.
W needs to move to the right on spending, illegal immigration and border security. He will pick up his base and gain some momentum; RINOs may follow along if they begin to feel pressure from the party faithful. Border security is a winning issue for us, but the media is winning the battle now.
Whether we want to believe it, or not, Bush is seen as the symbol of conservatism in the country. When the media attacks Bush, they're attacking us. They hate Bush, but they hate us even more.

I find it hard to believe that DeWine is 80% There are a lot of votes that are meaningless that get counted in this surveys. Once I asked him if he would support a law that stripped federal courts of their jurisdiction, said no, that it just "wasn't done." Well, too bad Senator, you can vote for "pro-life" measures all day long, but without such a provision the courts will overturn them.
I won't stay home, but I will vote third party, or if there is no such candidate, for no one.

I vote for conservatives. Always have. In the past, that was sometimes a dem. In the future, who knows which party that will be...
But, it will be the conservative candidate, just as always.

Nice job, guys. Your effort to re-conservativize the Republican Party in Washington by staying home We're not staying hime. We're going to vote for Republicans on an individual basis, not just because they have an R behind their names.

This is 100% correct. I'm not sitting out this election. I'm voting for conservatives. If the GOP can't be troubled to field conservative candidates (I live in NJ) then they shouldn't count on my vote. I don't vote for liberals--of either party.
