If this is true...and I will say IF...then we have been sold down the river. It all makes sense though, trying to grant social security to illegals and giving them more rights than us, not building a wall. I always knew Bush was not stupid, he is quite smart and very observant, which is why I wondered why he would not secure our southern border. Maybe now I have my answer.

You say things like this and expect to be taken seriously?

Frankly, I don't care if you take me seriously or not. The point and issue were made -- and my responses are running about 10 to one, supportive. Have a nice day.

Secretly, the Bush administration is pursuing a policy to expand NAFTA to include Canada, setting the stage for North American Union designed to encompass the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Huh?

Canada has been a member of NAFTA since it passed in 1993. I'd say Bush's secret isn't so secret. LOL! But hey, don't let me rain on your tinfoil parade. If this simple fact escapes you, what else in your rant is misrepresented? You've done a good job of posting misinformation on this thread and you've proven that you are uniquely unqualified to be lecturing anyone about NAFTA or the CFR.

Agreed and if he's impeached... so be it. I fail to say I want him to be impeached for fear of being kicked off of Free Republic... again. So here's to President Bush NOT being impeached for treason because obviously he's NOT GUILTY of treason.

There is a huge step from a left leaning organization like CFR recommending something, and it becoming law.

Perhaps that is why Cornyn keeps introducing legislation to implement it.

Senate Bill 2941. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c108:S.2941:

Highlights:

SEC. 3. PURPOSES.

The purposes of the Fund shall be-- (1) to promote economic and infrastructure integration among Canada, Mexico, and the United States;

(2) to promote education and economic development in Mexico; and

(3) to reduce the wealth gap between Mexico and Canada, and between Mexico and the United States.

More: SEC. 4. PROJECTS FUNDED.

(a) IN GENERAL- The Fund shall make grants for projects to carry out the purposes described in section 3, including projects-- (1) to construct roads in Mexico to facilitate trade between Mexico and Canada, and Mexico and the United States; (2) to develop and implement post-secondary education programs in Mexico; (3) to install telecommunications technologies throughout Mexico; and (4) to construct other infrastructure that will carry out such purposes.

More:

SEC. 5. CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE FUND.

(a) IN GENERAL- The terms of the agreement establishing the Fund shall, subject to the limitation in subsection (b), require the Governments of Canada, Mexico, and the United States to contribute to the Fund.

Increasing trade increases wealth. Increased wealth in Mexico means they can buy more of our value added products. So far, so good.

I'd rather spend Mexico's money to build infrastructure in Mexico than our taxpayer's money. Unfortunately, foreign aid is a big budget item that won't go away. How much money is he talking about? I'd rather they spend it on a neighbor, and have it develop trade and wealth for us and them, than spend it somewhere else that offers no future benefits. At least it can be argued that this is an investment that will pay future dividends.

Cornyn's bill has nothing to do with eliminating borders or integrating three nations into one however.

The thing is that many in Mexico (and in our own government [leftist Demorats]) really want a Communist North American union.
