Compressed air also requires energy to get the air in the tank.

The author of the article needs a spell checker. It is "research", not "reserch".

I heard they invented a vehicle that runs on water. It's called a boat.

And what provides the energy to compresses the air?

Big ass coal-burning power stations!

Have they thought of trying a twisted rubber band car?

Air doesn't grow on trees!

If this car takes off, the world will risk running out of air within 10 years.

It is my opinion that a sucker is born every minute.

Don't they teach about "potential energy" in publick skols anymore?

Every time gas prices make a big leap upward, these kinds of things start coming out of the wood.

The motor or engine that runs the compressor needs energy. When the air is compressed, it gets hot. When it cools, that energy is lost, too. Overall, not a terribly efficient process, although it would work.

You could use an explosion to refill the tank with compressed gas but then you would have an internal combustion engine running an air pump.

Plus the car has to move the weight of the air tanks

Nope! There's not enought time between the lesson on tolerance and the one on teamwork (AKA, rely on the smart kid to do the work).

"runs on air? sure, that has to work.."
And how will the sailing cars manage the underpasses, all the wires strung along and across the roads, and traffic jams? And if the driver has to tack right and left just to move straight, it would become a nightmare for everyone else on the road.
