Hudson v. Michigan hasn't been decided yet. If they ever said w/o a warrant that would be the end of the US.

I confused Hudson with the case on this thread

That's an understandable and good ruling. They could see a violent crime in progress though the window. In a case in IL, a woman dialed 911 during a rape. The cops got there and waited outside while the cries and screams for help came from inside. The sgt ordered the cops to stay put. The woman was killed in the end. The cops never came to her aid. IMO, the sgt and all involved should get life, no parole.

The cops wil simply cite "There is no constitutional right to be protected by the state against being murdered by criminals or madmen."
Bowers vs. devot, U. S. Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit 686 F. 2d 616 (1982).

The U.S. Supreme Court declared,
"The Constitution does not impose a duty on the state and local governments to protect citizens from criminal harm."
DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services, 489 U.S. 189, 109 S. Ct. 998, 103 L. Ed. 2d 249 (1989)
