Torture in Tehran
May 20, 2006
National Review Online
Michael Ledeen
I am sorry to have to post this, a video of the leader of Tehran's bus drivers' organization (it is forbidden to call it a union) after a torture session in an Iranian prison.
But it seems otherwise impossible to convince Western leaders that we are confronting a monstrous evil, that seeks to destroy or dominate us by all possible means. The sort of horror you see on this video is repeated every day, sometimes leading to execution, sometimes to further sadism.
Secretary Rice: do you really believe you can negotiate with such people? Can it be right to curry favor with the European appeasers for the price of the systematic torture and murder of those Iranians who seek freedom?
President Bush: why have you not instructed your people to give vigorous support to the Iranian democratic opposition? what on earth are you waiting for?
One thing is for sure. If we wait for the Department of State or the craven officials at the National Security Council to lead the Iran revolution, it is not going to happen.
Mansour Osanlou, the head of the union/organization was arrested in January and is still in prison.

Mansour Osanlou was arrested in December 2005. (not January,06)
its just a flesh wound.
I can only hope the EU members have seen this.
BWAHHHAHAHAAHAA
We can directly thank Jimmuh Cartuh for the proliferance of this kind of abuse. I wandered around the site, and was disgusted. Iranian students are tough, but they can't unrun bullets. What to do? ( I've got a few ideas, but am not posting them here)
Not only Jimmuh Cart-Dumb a.k.a. Lord Neville Chamberlain reincarnate but, every Democrat from the middle of the second FDR administration on.
The EU is run by socialists that would rather chop off their own hand than do anything that would give the slightest impression they support us.
I was amazed at how long that guy can stick out his tongue and how long his tongue was!
Wheres the outrage from our "friends" at the UN and ACLU? Oh, sorry - theyre too busy defending the rights of terrorists at Gitmo to be bothered.
Isn't it just incredible? Did you cruise through the website? I'm kind of old enough to remember all the fun Jimmuh put this country through. My first presidental election, I was proud to vote for Ronald Reagan. My folks didn't have much good to say about FDR, however. Now that I'm old enough, I see the all the damage Jimmuh did to our country. Well not only our country, but others as well.
Why does our President continue to allow Iran to sprint down the path towards NUKES?
Read the book "The Real Jimmie Carter," the book "Treason," then read the book "The ACLU vs. America" and you'll never vote for another Democrat, ever, for anything except town Drunk/Fool/Idiot.
Jimmy Carter was the worst President in American history.
And people are STILL prattling on about whether or not the Iranian government has actually mandated distinctive colors to identify non-Muslim minorities.
WHO CARES WHEN THIS KIND OF MONSTROSITY IS GOING ON??
Oh yes, I can't tell you the numerous Muslims I had to fight through to get to church this morning....
She (United States)will commend the general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example. She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom. The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force.... She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit.... -- John Quincy Adams
Well we'll just toss that right out the window shall we? We've got to spread democracy...if the Iranians want freedom, let them rise up and take it.
"Well we'll just toss that right out the window shall we?"
Hate to break it to you, but it's been tossed out the window before.
But no one's asking for "enlisting under other banners than her own". They want support not a military invasion. And support is something we've given to a number of countries fairly recently that were seeking democracy and freedom. That's how you help spread democracy.
