Supposedly, once you recite the original invocation of the la illa......an nabi (there is no god but, and Mohammad), you become a Muslim, which, should you renounce it, makes you eligible for death as an apostate. It could thus be argued that not only are schools not separating church and State, but that they are also putting children's lives at stake, however inadvertently.

Yes, the saying of that phrase makes you a Muslim, the same way that undergoing the baptism ritual makes you a Christian. And the odds of the 9th Circus going along with putting all school kids thru baptism to teach them about Christianity?
Technically, you have to actually mean it, rather than just saying the words, but there are Imams out there who might argue otherwise
