I like Dogpile as well but Google is the first engine up on their site.

I just use the Google toolbar. I haven't actually been to the site in months. So I didn't really notice.

Glad to see this. Dogpile is good search engine. It is one of those combo search sites. However, they use Google as one of their search engines and unfortunately have to have a business relationship with them.

Actually Dogpile is a Meta-Search Engine. It actually does not have a searchable database of it own. What it does is take the search arguments a user enters and then formats that into the different syntax required by Google, MSNSearch, Yahoo, ASK and about 150 other search engines that "we" may never have heard about.

The "key" to me is that Google cannot keep tabs on what I personally search and yet I can get the information from Google and the others.

Yes, saw that. I switched to Dogpile a year ago when Google neglected Armed Forces Day. Haven't missed it.

I've been testing Dogpile next to Google for a week now and glad to report that Dogpile is just as good and just as fast. G'BY GOOGLE

I do a few regular serches in the news on the same topic every day--and google always wanted to pretend it didn't know what I wanted, wouldn't let me go directly to news without giving me what they wanted me to see first--

It's one step for dogpile, and about three for google. Plus, shopping for a particular merchandise on google will waste quite a bit of time. Try your favorite brand of something on both engines and you'll see what I mean.

Dogpile doesn't have the excellent gmail, however. Wonder if dogpile is an investment opportunity?
