All depends on how many beers you've had before lap 101.
Hey, I may deserve a break on this one. I've been a big Indy fan for two whole days now. Besides, you knew who I was talking about - eh?
Forgiven. I've been an Indy fan for over 20. Actually seen and spoke to Rick Mears at the Texaco Havoline 200 at Road America back in 1990. My brother and I were at the gate in the fence beside the grandstand that led to the podium. We decided to stay there for about the last 10 laps, glad we did. Rick finished 3rd, Andretti was first, Emerson Fittipaldi was 2nd (who shook my hand when I complimented him on a good race!).
This was the race that A J Foyt crashed off the end of Turn 1. The race was red flagged for about an hour to medivac him out of there. My brother lived about 20 minutes from there at the time. We went to the race, drove back to his house, and watched it again on TV! Very cool!
