Gonna be a culture shock to switch from the pate and corvoisier to ribs and beer in a couple hours, eh?

You're cracking me up! :)

He is really a very nice man.

ESPN Classic had Johncock and Meirs analyze the 1982 race yesterday. It was neat to get their prospective. Meirs gained a few seconds a lap on the leader at the end but lost to Johncock by 1/16th of a second. Great race.

Gordon said he was out of the loop as far as public appearances - but he did show off his two Indy rings. Cool stuff...

yup ,...

.. .. but I love racing , the strateegery , the fine tuning and fiddling

.. .. the trust and good sportsmanship

... that time where EMO took the field right down to a crawl on the restart ...

.. .. then taking off , when his front wheels were straight but Arie's were still turned ,...

.. gotta love that kinda cunning

my how the coverage of this event has changed...

The old announcers were better, but the camera work is much better now: in-car cams, on-track cams add a lot of visual interest. The constant graphics are a bit annoying, though.

But they do allow chilling to increase density :o)

I gotta suit up to do the dry rub on the rib racks. Hope the freeway cams don't spot the orange cloud... those biohazard guys and firemen are usually really hungry when they show up.
