I'd argue even IF it's Arlen Specter.

I was being a little bit facetious. That guy is one of the worst of them out there and, were he my senator, I might actually be willing to vote Democrat, just to get rid of him.

(But instead, I'm in New York and have no representation in the Senate at all)

If I were in PA, I would support my favorite candidate in the primary, and then in the general, I'd make the best available pick, same as I do in the presidential race. I'm no big fan of GWB. I think a lot of the criticisms about him are accurate. But the DEM party is such a joke that voting is pretty much a no brainer.

What I'd REALLY like to see is a credible opposition party, but that doesn't seem to happen. Most countries seem to have at least one socialist party. Which sort of narrows down the options.

As for Specter, he's WAY better than a DEM. Look at all the party line votes on the judiciary committee.
