It is heartbreaking.
Pray for Barbaro. This could be very bad.
I didn't hear the vet. I couldn't watch after I saw the leg while the horse was being held for the ambulance. The good thing is he didn't go down. His jockey did a masterful job keeping the horse on his feet.
Whyyyyyyyy do they keep showing that shot of the ambulance? I don't want to see that, and really- what good does it do?
It is very sad. He seemed to have such incredible potential. The vet said he did not think it was life-threatening, but probably career-ending. Oh, so sad.
Yes, I still visualize that moment and can recall how confused I was.
Some days are good, some not. Had the winner today but don't feel like celebrating.
It is sad. Beautiful, majestic creatures.
No.
I want to see it. I think most of us are waiting for news from that ambulance.
Two fractures, major surgery
Going to Univ of Penn --- two breaks --- dear God.
Wherever the break is, I would be surprised if they can save him. Whatever is wrong is VERY wrong. Something has snapped for the leg to be flopping like it was. Poor bugger. Just heard - fracture above and below the ankle - he's a goner.
Two breaks, question about damage due to decreased blood supply.
Not a good prognosis .. God bless him and his docs. Prayers for Barbaro.
Vet says: Fracture above and below the ankle. Will go to special center. Will have major surgery. Need to check if he injured the blood supply, if so very serious. Say a prayer.
Vet says fracture above and below the ankle (both above and below). Yes, very serious.
Serious prayers for the life of this horse.
Beyond sickening.
