Finally. After years with no agenda or even publically stating what they stood for other than "Bush hatred" the Democrats finally decide on what their parties important values are and also have released a short but detailed list of those values. Most of you who read this will probably recognize this list. Trust me, they aren't exactly original.
Asked why it took them until the 6th year into the Bush administration to finally settle on their core values. A democratic strategist was quoted saying:
"All the other things were claimed by the "Christians" and "Jews" or considered hate speech. Not to mention, we are staunch supporters of the 1st amendment and the separation between church and state. These seven "values" are a true description of the heart and soul of the democratic party."
Lord?
So without further delay.
THE DEMOCRATS, "Who are we and what we stand for?"
As Democrats, We Stand For:
1. The excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. This is also known as Vanity.
2. The desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.
3. An inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.
4. An inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.
5. Anger manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.
6. The desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.
7. The avoidance of physical or spiritual work. Some of our citics on the right like to call us socialist. Well if those values make us socialist than that is what we are.
You will find a copy of the older versions of these "values" in the "body of comment" section below.
1.Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.
2. Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.
3. Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.
4. Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.
5. Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.
6. Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.
7. Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.
I find the characteristics of the democratic party in most ways identical to this list. It is stunning when you really think and compare the two.
Treason would be another one
You bet!
Fascinating juxtaposition, coffee. Thanks.
