War Dogs
The Army Quartermaster Corps began the U.S. Armed Forces first war dog training during WWII. By 1945 they had trained almost 10,000 war dogs for the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Fifteen War Dog platoons served overseas in World War II. Seven saw service in Europe and eight in the Pacific. In 1951 the responsibility for training military dogs was given to the Military Police Corps. Dogs continued to serve the armed forces with distinction in Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Iraq and many recent contingency operations.
WE FEARED NONE My eyes have seen many things in the darkness of the night. Some of which you never saw as you held my leash so tight. I protected you, and as a team we feared none. My ears have heard the sounds of things that made you freeze at night. You trusted me and used my pointed ears like battle sights. I protected you, and as a team we feared none. Over the years many have held my leash. Several of which held it loose and a few who held it tight. No matter how you chose to keep me, I protected you and as a team we feared none. I have heard the highest praise and felt the heaviest correction. Regardless the tone of your voice or the weight of your correction, I protected you, and as a team we feared none. When evil crossed our path, I never backed down! I will fight to the end. My loyalty to you is unconditional. I protected you, and as a team we feared none. Many years have passed. My muzzle is now full of gray. When it is time to face my final battle let me keep my pride. Know that I loved no other place than that of by your side. When it is all said and done, remember the battles that we’ve won. Never forget, I protected you, and as a team we feared none! By SSgt Jennifer R. Vasquez Dedicated to Military Working Dog Rambo # T058

READ:
Numbers 11:1-10When the people complained, it displeased the Lord. Numbers 11:1
Theres a story about a farmer who was known for his negative attitude. One day a neighbor stopped by and commented on the farmers wonderful crop. You must be extremely happy with this years harvest, he said. The farmer grudgingly replied, Well, yes, it looks like a pretty good one, but a bumper crop is awfully hard on the soil.
The people of Israel had the same kind of complaining attitude. God had miraculously taken care of them during their wilderness wanderings, yet they constantly complained. For example, they griped about the manna that God had so graciously provided. Remembering the fish, cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic of Egypt, they whined, There is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes! (Numbers 11:6). What ingratitude!
We too sometimes tend to focus on the negatives rather than the positives of life. We murmur against the Lord when we should be praising Him for His countless blessings. We let ourselves be distracted by the disappointments and deprivations that God allows for our spiritual good.
Whenever we are tempted to grumble, lets remember Numbers 11:1, When the people complained, it displeased the Lord. Richard De Haan
Every time you want to grumble,
Think of others who have less;
Ask the Lord to keep you humble,
Grateful for each happiness. Marye
Some people go through life standing at the complaint counter.
