Well as a fellow evangelical, all I can say is.......get over it.
I've seen MANY evangelicals "get it wrong". Sometimes they just swear they "heard from God" ......but it was obvious they didn't. Was just.....their own thoughts.
I've seen an equal or greater number of times where it was obvious they DID hear from God. Trouble is, too many are just soooooooo busy, too much 'background noise', to even HEAR the response.
Pat is not a bad person; not a bad man. Right, wrong on this 'word' is immaterial to me. We evangelicals don't need "spokesmen" and I follow none of 'em. I follow ONE. He knows who He is.
Do you remember the vile things you said to me? The absolutely worst, vulgar things that anyone has ever said to me on FR...........from a Christian??
I'm having trouble putting the two things together here........
BTTT
Well said.
What is not said and certainly far from admitted is that a LONG LIST of preachers and pontificators on the other side of such theological issues preach and write all the time
AS THOUGH their words OUGHT to bear the weight of holy writ in terms of how seriously their listeners are to take them.
AND THEY ARE WRONG AT LEAST AS OFTEN AS PAT. But they get away with it scot free.
That double standard does not impress God in the least.
