When I was growing up in the mid-50's in Hobbs, NM we lived not too far from a Mead's Fine Bread bakery, the odors coming from that place will forever live in my memory. They did a lot of their baking at night and early mornings, to wake up to that smell when the wind was right was little piece of heaven.

I used to visit my aunt and uncle in North Chicago (for weeks), near Waukegan. The town had the foul stench from Abbott Laboratories from their vitamins or something. I was an odor you never forget!
