What I see as missing, is the understanding that there is a slew of other possible routes of entry and they will simply shift to those.
Trucks, air, sea........and the big one...."Overstayed visa's".
Then what do you do. Build ten thousand Coast Guard patrol boats? Cancel all foreign Visa's? Close, and or physically and tediously inspect every single vehicle entering through the gateways.....Close the airspace?
Hell, they could traverse the Gulf and enter as far away as Florida!(and probably are now)
The answer is a comprehensive one, and I can sure see it. Why is it that so many refuse to even look?
And you keep plugging the holes. We need comprehensize security, and if the GOP wasn't going so bonkers for earmarks, we could pay for it.
But tell me - if you have two holes in your boat the size of nickles, and one the size of a dinner plate, which one do you fix first?
And once again, what is missing IMO is the actual desire to have border security work.
That is exactly what some of the loudest detractors of the president's attempts to control the border want: a hermetically sealed society. If you believe such a thing is not only impossible (it's been tried) but hurtful to our country both socially and economically, you are an evil globalist.
They are the all or nothing crowd. They demand all or nothing and get nothing. The rest of us lose.
It's what I post too. There aren't many of us here.
