"I simply made a statement of what I have observed over the time I've been here."

Absolutely 100% right. I've seen so many pro border enforcement freepers banned over the last few years. Nowadays all those who used to post thoughtful pro border enforcement comments with links to back them up are long gone - banned. I've seen many of the threads over the years where they were banned. They would be attacked, vilified, namecalled, and in return would doggedly try to stick to the facts. Eventually some of them would respond in kind and boom - instant banning. Others never did resort to sinking to the level of the name-callers but were banned anyway.

Now on this thread for the first time I see the moderators taking an active part in attacking posters. Posting to the thread in an insulting way. If you're moderating you should stick to that and not start posting under the moderator screen name. If you want to call names post under your freeper screen name. It's really sad to see FR sink to this level, from a once good site for conservative activism it's now just one group in power bashing those who don't toe the party line.

Ummmmm.....you might want to go take a cold shower.....

And turn the thermostat down. This is halfway, and not so bad if you would simply read what he is proposing.

Now.......the amnesty he gives is not arresting them (no one, including Ronald Reagan has done that for 100 years, so you can stop blaming Bush), but giving them a period of time in which they have to register or be arrested and deported, and after they sign up they have a limited time in which they have to work, then they have to go home and then they may apply at the back of the line for citizenship like anyone else.

Partial amnesty at best. As compared with massive armed deportation that you want, seems like a winner, and is even possible to do as opposed to your idea. Gets them registered, so we know who and where they are, gets them to deport themselves in time.

Pretty good compared to the TC's right?

Perhaps you should consider the border crowd is every bit a part of the wrecking of the GOP, and frankly very few want to put up with that attitude, just as very few want to put up with the attitude of La Raza.

"But, just today, the Senate passed an amnesty/guest worker bill that Bush was promoting and that the illegals want. In other words, Bush allied with all but two Senate Dems and Senate RINOs to outvote conservatives."

Sir, I realize you're in the middle of a rather steamy debate with justupandtakeit over whether or not current conservative Sheehan tactics are playing into the hands of the Democrats and probably missed it, so here's a link to my post post prime rib #3135, in response to your #3085 to me. Link opens in new window so you don't lose track of this incredibly fast paced thread, which is something I can do easily...and have at times.

Exactly. I'll see that and raise it a "and some of them are doing it knowingly and with malice aforethought".

Some, but not all. The vast majority want to pressure for a better border policy that respects the laws.

Unfortunately there is a vocal minority that seems to lead many honest patriots by the nose and they are the ones who I think are a bit crazy.

The post to which I replied, was not worded in such a way, that I took your statements to refer to non-politicians.

I can see from the wording that what you say is correct.
In the last statement of that post I did mean both individuals and local politicians, not so much state and national.

There may be a very few out there on the state and national level but I'm not conversant enough with any but my own state to be able to tell you. And I can't think of any Dems from my state on those levels that I could point to.

Actually it is not Amnesty at all because they have to pay a fine for disobeying the law. It is Guest Worker Registration.

Exactly. The vocal minority leading many honest patriots by the nose is doing it with malice aforethough. It's simple psychology: we're all sheep when we let emotion rule reason.

You can call out those Walk on Water "Conservatives" by making them make Pro-Life statements. Better yet force them to agree with the War. It exposes them pretty well.

It is amnesty in the strict definition, but you are also correct in saying it is not really that at all. It gets them to self deport. It is a pretty smart way to do this sanely, and is not the true amnesty as is being decried by the opponents.

Full amnesty and automatic citizenship is what the traitorcrats want.

You have to change the definition of Amnesty to call it Amnesty, which most the Borderliners have no problem with. Basically the same thing Libs do all day. That and their "concern" over Illegals not having a living wage???

I don't believe it matters. In their minds, anything short of shelling out hundreds of billions to round them all all and kick them all out permanently amounts to amnesty.

bray, I sent this letter via regular mail today to the White House. Can I encourage you to write a similar one expressing your own sentiment to the President. He and his staff are continually bombarded by many special interest groups claiming to represent the base...if those groups aren't speaking for you would you write the President?

If you do I hope you will also take some time to encourage at least two friends to do the same. Thanks:

Mr. President,

I trust that this communication finds you and the First Lady well.

I’d like to congratulation you on the fine speech you delivered the other evening. As I listened to your words, I could not help but compare their sincerity with the increasingly shrill rhetoric of those who have continually attacked you since taking office.

I know you are a man of conviction, a man who follows his principles and not polls; in short, a statesman, and not a politician. I am thankful for that in my daily prayers.

Least your staff become disheartened by the increasing volume and direction of the attacks, I would remind them that “we” elected you to lead us in this time of great peril. When I say “we”, I mean the common everyday Americans who simply go about our daily lives without becoming swept up by surreptitious political agenda or fear of our government. No matter how imperfect our current elected government is, it is “we” who chose it.

We did not elect the journalists who manufacture news and polls to suit their political agenda. Nor did we elect the single issue advocates or talk show hosts who market conservative values for profit. Although they each claim to know the secret to make our government perfect, they do not have the courage of their convictions to run for office and affect change. Instead they attempt to circumvent “our” will and the election process through demands, threats, cajoling, creating dissent and claiming to speak for “us”.

These people do not represent your base, any more then they represent “we” the people.

Stand firm and proud, you are doing a fine job.

God Bless.

Do you think Bush will sign the bill passed by the Senate, if it were presented to him as is?

If you're ignorant of all the White House talking points over the past year regarding Meirs, Ports Deal or Immigration where they resort to PC baiting to defend critics then you are dumber than I thought. But since you're obviously not dumb then you must be disingenuous.

I've seen you drag folks around in circles here by denying everything regardless.

So, just a simple question:

Do you support Hagel-Martinez or Bush's Quasi-Amnesty?

Yes or No will do.
