Hollywood rolled out the green carpet Tuesday for former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and his global warming documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth."
Actors and activists joined in celebrating Gore's film, which argues global warming is imminent and potentially catastrophic.
Actors including Sharon Stone, David Duchovny from the "X-Files," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" co-star Larry David and comedian Garry Shandling attended showing, where guests walked a green carpet instead of the traditional red.
"It's just the environment and planet, that's all," said Shandling.
He joked that people don't pay enough attention to global warming because "they are focused on TV."
One event sponsor, Hewlett-Packard, brought guests from a nearby hotel in a vehicle powered by bio-fuel instead of gasoline.

Oh, "Barf alert."
He joked that people don't pay enough attention to global warming because "they are focused on TV."
And we are especially focused on "manbearpig" :)
Manbearpig Ping?
There fixed it.
I saw the trailer, or is it trailor, on the internet, and it was in fact quite well done. The flick is giving Gore some renewed traction for a reason.
like moths to the flame.
Is it any wonder why 9/11 happened?
You mean this?
EWWW
I hope Al Gore gets the Democrat nomination for president in 2008. That should preempt any serious Republican defection.
Are you cereal ? Are you totally cereal ?
What a bunch of hypocrites. "Global warming" is nothing but a natural cycle of the planet, and the solution these idiots (and they are just that) are trying to sell the sheeple does absolutely NOTHING actually reduce these evil "greenhouse gases", which ironically are necessary for life on this planet.
When will one of these buffoons explain to the public exactly how sending MONEY to crooks in the UN is going to stop "deadly" (perfectly harmless) CO2 emissions? How does taking MONEY from successful western nations, and using what's left of it (after Koffi Annan and all the other liberal crooks in the UN and NGO's it houses take their cut) and give it to 'turd world' countries to develop industry to pollute even more going to help??
Kyoto is an SCAM, it's nothing but a TAX implemented by the UN, which is NOT a government of any country, and must NEVER, EVER be a government of anything.
Actors and guitar players should stick to their professions. Most of them have never completed grade school, (and if they did, they were probably advanced because of pressure from mom and dad and money) and none of them have enough living brain cells to even begin to understand what going on in this world.
All joking aside, I too would like to see him get the nomination, but I'm afraid the best we'll see is maybe a primary run (if that). Right now I'm pulling for George Allen for our nominee, but it is still early. I think he has smarts, he's very consevative and has a George Bush-like charisma.
Hewlett-Packard can take comfort in knowing that I will NEVER AGAIN buy anything they make. Hypocrites as well, considering they mass produce throw away junk like printers, which are cheaper to throw away and buy another one when they run out of ink. (if they last long enough to empty an ink cartridge) Perhaps they should invest money into making a car that runs on HP products that would otherwize end up in the local landfill rather than host events for spoiled rich sissy actors and burned out musicians.
You know, If we would just nuke that sun thing we could eliminate any environmental issues. In fact, I heard that the Cato institute and Greenpeace were pooling their resources to purchase nukes from North Korea, Iran, and France. They will launch them in an Indian rocket. Yeah, blow up the sun, that'll do the trick. (That is how much I respect Al (I love the spotlight) Gore's science. I fart in his general direction, how's that for some global warming.
I'm sure they handle the idea of global warming with the same unbiasedness, open mindedness of PBS, CNN, The New York Times, Cindy Sheehan, Democracy Now, John Kerry...
All the nukes on the planet would barely make the sun burp.
What the Moonbats need is a Nova bomb. ;-)
