McCain (R) Not Voting.

ROFLOL! That's one way not to let 'em use your record against you when you run for president!

I have to say I am happy that Isakson proposed this (he's my JR senator)

I'm kinda surprised Brownback voted no.

................" to make allowing illegal immigrants to stay in the United States contingent on first securing borders against new undocumented immigrants. "

That this would even require a vote is telling of just how disturbed our D.C. leadership really are.

"Some time ago I heard of a mental hospital
which had devised an unusual test to determine
when their patients were ready to go back into the
world. They brought any candidates for return into
a room where a water tap was pouring water out
over the floor. They handed the patient a mop and
told him to mop up the water. If the patient had
sense enough to turn off the tap before mopping up
the water, he was ready to go back. But if, as in
the case of many, he took the mop and started
mopping up the water with the tap still flowing,
they knew more treatment was needed."

Nebraska Hagel (R) No; Nelson (D) Yes.

Nelson is pissing himself over this fall election. Shows some intelligence though, given that Rickets spent more on the primary than Ben(d over) has in his entire warchest.

Go, Rickets.

SO let's work some fractions here. 33/55 Reps and 7/45 Dems supported the amendment.

18/55 Reps and 37/45 Dems voted it down. That means 60% of the GOP voted pro border enforcement, while 22/55 or 40% voted against or weaseled (McCained)on this particular issue. While on the Dem side, 16% went pro enforcement and 84% went against or McCained the vote.

I agree, the problem is all those RINOs. Replace them with a boatload of Dems to send the GOP a lesson, and a bill just like Isaakson's will pass immediately.
