CNN Poll [John Podhoretz] David Frum, the smartest man I know, got it wrong. CNN has a poll just up, and the results are staggeringly in the president's favor. 79 percent of those who watched had a very favorable or favorable view of the speech, and those who support the president's policies rose in number from 42 to 67 percent. Thanks...
Last night on one of the threads...DevSix said that we would be surprised how well Americans would take this speech...(this was before the speech)...
He said that our website is NOT indicative of how the majority of Americans feel...and that the speech would impress them.
Seems he was right...good going, DevSix!
Can you imagine Hillary getting tough on immigration?
Good news for Bush supporters like Kennedy, Durban, Reid, and Hillary.
The simple fact of the matter is mexican immigrants don't "line up" behind the Democrat party if they vote at all.
In real life, I only know one person who sounds remotely like a freeper on this issue. VERY few people are as hateful as the hysterics and very few are willing to abandon their party and hence their country over this issue.
Anyway, good call Dev.
Well...that eases my mind...because if the posts on FR the last 6 months or so were indicative of the "main" voting public...I would be VERY afraid.
It's the Kennedy, Durban, Reid, contingent of FR that's happy.
It would add at least 100 million new, mostly third-world, immigrants to this country in the next 20 years.
Abomination? Yes it is. Our homeland will unrecognizable, and in some parts, unlivable.
Added bonus: Those 100 million will be at least 10 percent Muslim (the current rate). Ten million more Muslims. CAIR is giddy with anticipation.
We're pretty political in this neighborhood and so I deliberately asked at a party two weeks ago. Only one person saw it as something that is so important they wouldn't consider themselves broken glass Republicans if the president didn't handle it exactly the way it should be handled.
In fact, when I asked, they looked at me like I'd gone crazy or something. A couple of them said "You mean vote for a Democrat?" LOL
His approval numbers will increase if some freepers are right that immigration is the number one issue bringing it down. The positive reaction to his speech should make a difference.
Although CNN and CBS know that the Senate immigration debate on the issue is today. Could it be they are doing their part to help the cause?
Check out the Zogby poll
http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1111
It contradicts the CNN poll.
Now do I suddenly think Zogby is a credible polster? Nope. But neither is CNN. I reject both, but would like people to explain why they accept either one as credible all of a sudden. Seems to me people are willing to believe the result they want.
You hope he'll be in the teens or low 20's. Sorry you'll be so disappointed.
You are very correct to point out the inconsistencies with our reactions...
I should know better...and even though I "like" these results I will wait for more...but, even then not beleive them.
Thanks Soul Seeker.
This is funny. Bush gives a speech . People like it. his approval #s may go up. Ok all is good again. some folks will Enjoy the reprieve , Virtual acts will not work. The contents of the current bill in the senate will be exposed.
Because it is illegal to use troops for law enforcrement in the US.
You're welcome. :-)
When RASS comes out with a position and has a few weeks to develop a consistency to the polled result, I'll grant a psoition either way.
Right now I am rejecting CNN and Zogby, both with polar opposite results.
Well, if the American people liked the speech, I hope they want a bunch more illegal Mexicans, because that's what they're going to get.
This is the destruction of America, pure and simple.
Sold out for the New World Order.
It was very weird. They basically said he was lying and was going to massively deport them all. They were very upset because they felt he hadn't heard them in their protests, etc.
