CNN Poll (Good news 4 Bush supporters)
National Review ^

Posted on 05/16/2006 10:35:33 AM PDT by greenpagan

CNN Poll [John Podhoretz] David Frum, the smartest man I know, got it wrong. CNN has a poll just up, and the results are staggeringly in the president's favor. 79 percent of those who watched had a very favorable or favorable view of the speech, and those who support the president's policies rose in number from 42 to 67 percent. This cannot be correct. This is a joke, isn't it?

So true. Its funny but sometimes it takes a event a couple of days for something to sink in as to its true impact. I have talked to numerous people today that said the President was right on. Last night, the President had to act like the daddy and basically lay out reality and tell many folks(including that mysterious base I hear about) to grow up and start acting like adults in this discussion.

I have done a hit of blogs today. I see a trend. That trend is relief. For many its a relief that its ok to support the President's vision and not have to have ones conservativism, patriotism, and backbone called into question. For others its a belief that something might get done despite all the election year theatrics.

Not much for polls, but if this is the slightest bit accurate, it confirms my suspicion that a multitude of anti-Bush members inundating FR are strictly BUSH haters regardless of what side of an issue he is on.

Like I said last night, it was a great speech. One of his best, and the American people would support his plan.

Interesting to see all the same people who constantly bleat that all the MSM polls are lies, suddenly gloating over the one poll in a million that isn't a complete bust for Bush. If anybody was bamboozled by his strategy to push amnesty through, that's nothing to be happy about.

So this is merely a local or regional US poll?

Probably not a joke, but sure smells like bait. CNN hates Bush, and will want goad him into any action legalizing illegals so the Liberals can start lining up new voters. The White House oughta tread real lightly here. I don't trust any Drive By Media poll, for anything.

Your not alone. I told someone last night that almost didn't log on because I didn't think I could put up with the poison. However, I was shocked. There was a ton of supporters of the Presidents view and many open to it and willing to listen and engage in a constructive dialouge. It wasn't just here either. Many bloggers had their comment sections full of similar comments. I feel liberated almost from this conservative PC movement that was alluded to on the corner blog this morning

Good news. I'm glad Bush decided to speak with the American people from the heart, and those who are listening are seeing the reasoning behind his proposals.

I detect Seminar posters who all of sudden are with the President. I heard many seminar callers this morning on C-Span.

What happened to the general agreement two days ago that CNN polls were totally dishonest and couldn't be believed?

It never ceases to amaze me that on FR a poll is credible only if we agree with its results.

In Seattle, the local news conducted interviews with Latinos to get their reaction to his speech. The recurring them was "fear." If you ask me, that is very telling.

The CBS poll was the same with 82% agreeing with Bush's plan. All polls will be similar.

You are right it was a great speach! In fact I was afraid to watch last night, but did and was pleastly suprised and happy to see him do so well. I am happy to see some on FR liked it as well.

Indirectly, the speech which causes President's Bush's poll numbers to go up, helps the anti-invasion effort. Though he's far too soft on that front for my taste, we're better off if the White House and Congress remain in Republican control. Can you imagine Hillary getting tough on immigration?
