Thanks for the post.
Before the complainers get here, I just want to note that both Lou Dobbs and Tancredo thought the president's plan and speech was a good one.

The negative energy on virtually every immigration thread is suffocating. Glad to see a positive post. Bush doesn't score 100% stacked up against my expectations when I voted for him, but I thank God every day that neither Gore or Kerry are President.

Great post - We should all be thankful for this man of tremendous character and class with have as our POTUS/CIC.
And understand our base made up of very good men & women is already coming back together on the whole. There is a small, "sky is falling", "hanging on the immigration cross martyrs" group left within the base...but they are a very small minority that will only continue to get smaller. They are chicken little's that simply can't see class and character because they lack it themselves.

AMEN! THANKS FOR THE POST. I'M SO TIRED OF ALL THE NEGATIVE POSTS. I'M TRULY THINKING ABOUT PULLING MY SUPPORT FOR THIS SITE. CONSERVATIVES HAVE TO BE POSITIVE. I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN A NEGATIVE WORLD. THAT'S WHERE THE DEMOCRATS LIVE.

I'm thankful it's still possible to disagree with virtually all your points, out loud, without going to jail.

I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell you:
If we give away our country to ILLEGALS, NONE of your about to be formerly impressive list matters, for the country will be gone.
It's not like Bush is in prison, and we're watching him to award him good behavior for past good deeds.
No, History is rushing at him, and what counts is how he handles what's happening NOW.
Remember Harriet Miers? That was really a big thing then, wasn't it? The Supreme Court is of no importance whatsoever if our country and culture are subsumed by tens of millions of illegals whose main goal is to extract benefits for themselves. That's no way to run a citizenry.
Sorry, Mr. President, but for all of the good and brave you have done already, I'm afraid we live in a What-have-you-done-for-me-lately culture.

A few pearls from Confucius
To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.
With wisdom, there is no delusion, with benevolence, there is no worry, with courage, there is no fear.
The people may be made to follow, but may not be made to know
Confucius
As one who has had to put his own heart right (Alcoholism)
Bush can stand as others take pot shots at him.
The more I watch the man, the more I like him.
It take real courage to try to lead a country
When its own people will not listen

Thanks for the uplifting post which I wholeheartedly agree with. Pres Bush once again took on the hard job of again addressing the illegal immigration problem. Now let us see if congress will do their part and followup. Congressmen Tancredo and King on BOR tonite were not accepting compromise so the beat goes on.

Well, the Prez has 2-1/2 more years to go, and we need to keep the pressure up on the border issue.
But those who are willing to vote libertarian or other 3rd party are extremely naive.

So, many of the more anonymous (and lefty state) people here blame our President for what their own states and neighbors bring on them, and they want Hillary for president. What a surprise...

Ya know I have had my disagreement with the President on some things. But, I have met him on a couple of occasions and my daughter received +a letter personally signed by him in the middle of the 2004 campaign.
We all have faults, weaknesses and failings. Lord knows I do. But I am proud that GWB is my President. He is a good man, who honors his father and mother, loves his woman, and seeks to know the will of God.
He is serving in an exceptionally challenging time, facing issues that most presidents seek to avoid. He deserves our prayers every day. In out home we certainly pray for the man and his family and I hope y'all do too.
