W didn't do a 180, but perhaps a 135 which is something in the right direction. With a lot more prodding, we can get Congress, the courts and W to be headed straight into the wind.

I still say he is the best president of my lifetime. He has realigned our foreign policy with ourvalues so we don't have to be ashamed of cozying up to dictators. His economic policies have recouped loses of 2 trillion $, revived state budgets and lifted the boats of the world into growth. He has reorganized two big disfunctional bureaucracies, though he is still working on intelligence and Homeland Security. He has signed 750 bills. He walks through fields seeded with landmines with aplomb and good humor. And his stealth energy independance plan has our demand falling just when the opposition wanted that issue. Go GWB.

I've been avoiding this place lately, so I'm a little out of touch and frankly, tired of this nonsense I see posted on almost every friggin thread, it's nonstop "Bush is to blame for 50 years of neglect on our borders and if he doesn't solve the problem in this speech tonight, it's time to impeach him.
These ignorant SOB's CANNOT be conservatives, because no serious conservative I have ever known is a knee jerk reactionary who is willing to see Hillary Clinton as our next President so they can say they taught the country a lesson. This is the thinking of a friggin Mongoloid, not a conservative

I didn't see Dobbs but have seen a couple of posters on different threads say that he liked the plan and the speech. I just turned CNN on to see a replay but they are showing Anderson Cooper.

I agree with you and I doubt I will live long enough to see how history will written, but I believe he will be among the best ever. IMHO he is more conservative than Ronald Reagan and the numbers back it up, In order for Bush to match Reagan's increase in the size of the Government, the Federal budget will have to 4 Trillion Dollars by 2008

A few pearls from Confucius
To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.
With wisdom, there is no delusion, with benevolence, there is no worry, with courage, there is no fear.
The people may be made to follow, but may not be made to know
Confucius
As one who has had to put his own heart right (Alcoholism)
Bush can stand as others take pot shots at him.
The more I watch the man, the more I like him.
It take real courage to try to lead a country

Why don't you save your venom for those jokers in Washington--the ball is in their court whether they want Hillary to be president. I for one am tired of people who don't belong here demand citizenship while flaging their flag in my face!

You don't live in the American southwest, do you?I live in Los Angeles, and I sure as heck do not agree with the extremists who want mass roundups and deportation of illegals, a Berlin Wall on our southern border, and regular Army troops every few feet with orders to shoot to kill. That's what most of the hysterics want, even if they aren't honest enough to admit it.

That's not saying much....let's be serious, he doesn't want to fix this...this speech wouldn't have happened if he wasn't losing his base...worst of all is that he didn't even speak to his base tonight..
