They have no shame. It won't hurt the President. Those who don't like him are almost pathological in their hate. Those who support him, know how human he is, and like him for it.
I find this hard to believe......Is CNN still in business? Really??? I had NO idea!
I was of the belief that because of instances such as this in the past, it's a White House rep. that controls the switch to the live pool feed for the networks.
CNN..are they still on the air?
Back a few on the thread, there's a story indicating NBC was providing the pool FAX, and somebody there cued Bush too soon, realized their mistake, stopped him, then re-cued him. CNN and CSPAN took the feed as soon as they saw it, most of the other networks didn't.
My recollection of the arrangement is that networks rotate in providing the facilities for the pool feed, which includes camera, audio, lighting, producer, director, and stage manager. The White House might have a representative in the control room, but has no physical control of the feed. Anyway, that's the way I recall it being described.
I understand the Army Corps of Engineers arranges for one microphone to serve all the media, so the president doesn't have a gaggle of microphones in front of him. Why can't they do that with the camera, too?
Turn them into pajamahedeen?
Well the Prez could fix that by putting up a frame with a window shade in it. When time to talk, he pulls the shade, it goes rolling up, and he commences. Then when over he reaches for the shade, pulls it down, and says "that's all folks!"
They do for this kind of event. That's what a pool feed is. The camera's owned by whatever network happens to be the pool leader that day.
The mike situation you mentioned is used during things like news conferences, Rose Garden events, etc. The mike (actually, there's usually two, and they were traditionally Shure SM57's) gets fed to a splitter box and each network plugs into that box. For those events, they all bring their own cameras.
Saaaaaa-LUTE
Coming from CNN, it doesn't surprize me a bit. Yet they try to claim there's no liberal media. Right.
Is this the pic you were looking for?
For the remainder of his administration. Futhermore, I wouldn't let any of his cabinet talk to any CNN reporter.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
Well I made no mistake and watched Fox for our President's address.
